It wasn't so long ago that people went out of their way to put X's all over everything and here we are taking them out.  I hope this isn't a new trend, because it's 'stremely! annoying already.

i loved the maw... hearing the concept sounds weird, but I saw some footage from e3, and it looks like a 2d scroller? correct me if im wrong

I really, really love the Maw.  So I'll be picking this up on day one.  I'm very into Twisted Pixel's take on downloadable games, DLC, and 3D platforming games.

Giant Bomb: Please start putting in gameplay footage in your reviews. I know there's not a whole lot of it for this particular game, but it has at least had a trailer. Throw that in there, or something.

Had a chance to play last week. It's a fantastic platformer, with a great control mechanic. You can die, a lot. It's definitely not going to be handed to you like The Maw, so that's a huge plus. It wasn't so difficult as to be annoying, but you'll have to learn from your mistakes. Twisted Pixel's sense humor is definitely there, in a T for Teen kind of way, and the characters are amusing. 50 single player levels and another 50 for local and online multiplayer, so hopefully a lot more bang for the buck than The Maw.

The game sounded really dumb. Then the guy said they made The Maw. I really liked The Maw so even though, this sounds dumb, I trust these guys more because they made a game that I really enjoyed.

First of all, maw werent that great :P The only thing id had going for it was that it was charming with nice character models. If was way to repetitive imo.

The problem with thinking this way is that only sequels and such will sell well. If your not open to new original game concepts and studios, well, you get Psychonauts success. Quickly dismissing a game before even watching a gameplay video is also, well, very dismissive. But, I think most people including me, thinks the way you do. We dont want to get burned on bad games after all.

The two things I was referring to was discarding the game without having played it and because the concept is different then other games, and how you then had no problem with it when you found out who made it, something that isn't a safe reason to believe its going to be good. These two things are really annoying when people point out how things suck with vague arguments and without valid reasoning, and how people blindly follow developers and game creators. Just because they made something good before doesn't mean they wont release mediocre games because they know people will buy it anyways.

I didn't say it sucked and I didn't dismiss the game. I said the game sounded stupid. The way he talked about being made of "splosions" was dumb. Also, I'm not blindly following the developers (I don't even know their name), all I said was that I'll remain interested now. I didn't say "OH THE GUYS FROM THE MAW MADE THIS?! DAY 1 PURCHASE!". I'm sure these guys are perfectly capable of making mediocre games but so far, they're 1 for 1.
