I actually liked the first Prey and would have been ok with a "normal" sequel but HOLY SHIT this new direction looks amazing !

How much of a universe was set up from the first game? Would I need to play through that to fully understand everything in Prey 2?

This very much seems like the biggest surprise of the show. I'm really interested to see where this game goes.

The crazy part is, the first game had almost no universe set up at all. the story was very self contained. All you really need to know about the first game is that...

Tommy is Native American, and he gets abducted by this alien race, and has to save his girlfriend with his Native American spirit powers. Oh and portals. Oh and also Blue Oyster Cult.

from the games i didn't knew anything about before the e3, this is my biggest good surprise of the show, pre ordered
i love the blade runner vibe already

thanks for posting that link, i'm really glad i saw gameplay of it, i'm surprised it didn't get more of a mention on most websites coverage of E3 - i think i just wasn't looking out for it, but it looks fantastic, the world they ran around in, and up and over looks so well designed

i hated blade runner, but the aesthetic is fantastic and something i and i assume most people, always wanted to see in a game, and this looks amazing, graphically even it looks amazing but the art direction, about 10 seconds into it i just wanted to buy the game to walk around let alone play in

i was hoping deus ex HR was going to be that dystopian future / blade runner-esque game but hearing some of the comments made on the live stream about it have me concerned; but conversely with the comments made about prey 2 i had to check it out, and i'm definitely going to keep an eye on it

my only concern, and obviously they aren't going to be speaking too broadly about the story, but i just hope there's a large story arc to make all the designs and characters and gameplay worth it, the demo of prey put me off it and i don't think i'll go back to it but i imagine,especially considering the time since then, they'll keep this distant enough not to put off people new to the franchise
