Ok, I'm probably a sap, but that intro with the kids was adorable.

It's a small thing, but seeing the Master Sword in Skyrim made my night ? overall though, this was probably my favorite of the conferences so far. It didn't bore me like EA or piss me off like Microsoft. Just a nice, simple "Here's what we're working on" with some new releases mixed in. Good stuff, even if I probably won't play most of it.

Doom VFR looked interesting and I hope you can actually rip and tear the demons for the melee kills. Just like that Robo Recall VR game.

This showcase was kinda flat for the most part, also why bother renting a stage when 90% of your (little over 30 minute) show is a video package?

I am so fucking on board with Wolfenstein. I haven't laughed that hard in weeks and it was a trailer. Easily the best thing I've seen come out of E3 so far.

So much of this presentation felt like stretching to fill time before announcing the few notable things (Fallout VR, Wolfenstein, maybe that Dishonored stuff) they had to announce. Kind of makes you wonder if they had to have a press conference this year at all.

Wolfenstein looks good but I can't help but cry at the thought of them neglecting Quake as their best single player franchise. Seriously I love Doom and Wolfenstein to pieces and have played thousands of hours of them but no other FPS has ever been more fun to me than single player Quake. Just make a single player quake and release modding and map tools for it and it would be the best FPS thing ever.

Weird press-conference. They basically had 2 games to show, but those 2 did look very good and are both out this October, so there's that.

Too bad their VR projects are only for the Vive. Definitely would've given Fallout 4 another shot if it was playable in PSVR..

Wolfenstein looked great. I'm excited to play some more Dishonored and heck, I'll give Evil Within 2 a shot. I played the first game for several hours and granted, I'm not a big fan of the clunky old-school survival horror where you move slow and all that, but that game had some awesome styyyllleeeee going for it that kept me playing much longer than I would have otherwise. I might go back and try to finish it before the sequel comes out.

@steveurkel: I still prefer the DOOM SP, but yeah, I think the Quake SP is really underrated. It's understandable though, given how revolutionary the MP was.

@steveurkel: I totally forgot how much fun I had playing the Quake 4 SP until now...damn shame they aren't doing SP for that anymore.

The Evil Within 2 captured my interest the most from the Bethesda conference. It helps that survival horror is one of my favorite genres. The first one was a gem that was plagued by a bad engine and performance problems.

Wolfenstein 2 looked awesome. I've heard people say that Anthem has nice faces, but man.. Wolfenstein 2 's faces are the first faces that feel real to me. That lady is terrifying in a way that Far cry antagonists never were.

Not to sure what the idea is with the teleporting in VR. Here we have 1 company using teleporting in one VR product (Doom) , and normal walking in the other (Fallout) . Why is teleporting still a thing if the same company can create a VR game where you can straight up walk? Is teleporting supposed to be more fun in that Doom game than direct control would be? I can't imagine that to be the case.

You should because that ending....it's something. Jesus it was something. I need to go play the DLC for it.

@onemanarmyy: Normal Doom is so much faster. I'm guessing it would make people feel sick and slowing it down would make it not feel like Doom.

@sloppydetective: but would a slower direct movement doom be a worse game than a slower doom where you have to teleport?

The game has to be slower to make the teleporting work anyways since you need to point and click your way through. I have a hard time accepting that teleporting makes the game better.

The lack of Daud in Dishonored 2 was one of the things that killed the story for me, and the concept of trying to kill the demigod Gerard Way seems interesting. Tentatively excited.

Also, yeah Wolfenstein looks like it really benefited from a dose of New Doom and Danger 5.

@onemanarmyy: Idk, but I would think Bethesda tried that way in multiple ways and came to the conclusion that this works better/feels better. I've never used VR so I can't claim a personal preference.

I found the show to be pretty underwhelming. I'm definitely down to play Wolfenstein 2 and I like Bethesda's newfound trend of showing off games for the first time at E3 and then releasing them a couple months later, but aside from that, nothing they showed off seemed especially cool.

And then on top of that paid mods.

If it wasn't for Wolfenstein 2, that would have been a shocker of a conference. They did not need to hold a conference for that level of content.

I hope you can move normally in Doom, teleporting sucks and plenty of people don't get motion sick using trackpad/analog movement in VR.

God, if there was anything that could get my hyped it would be a new commander Keen

EDIT: Every time I see a Elder Scroll Legends trailer I'm waiting for the narrator to start talking about wanting revenge on Angelus, that guy's voice is so distinktiv

Also, better choice for Duran Duran song for your game trailer would have been "the chauffeur ", why dont they ever ask me

Wow, this might be one of the weakest conferences I've seen in a while. Wolfenstein II looks great and I actually thought Evil Within was pretty decent, but the rest of the show was pure fluff including the VR announcements.

Most excited for Dishonored expansion, but new Wolfenstein looks great too. It was a relatively light conference but they got the style right and it was entertaining throughout. But they were missing a blowout "brand new" thing that hadn't been teased already.

This felt like Bethesda's take on a Nintendo Direct presentation. Honestly I didn't think the conference was all that good because many of those announcements were VR/Mods fluff, but the finale was great for Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein 2.

I wanted to see something new as well, but they made a point of saying all the games presented are coming out this year, which I prefer over some 30 second teaser of something we won't see until 2022.
