Man, so many great thoughts on the "zord battle formula" trope and how rare it was to see uncombined battles. Heck as someone who originally grew up with Voltron and saw MMPR as "live action Voltron", it initially bugged me that right from the first episode, they just knew how to pilot their vehicles and combine them where Voltron (GoLion) it was a few episodes of finding individual lions and trying to figure them out.

Also I wonder if Billy's excessive techno-babble was because in 1993, we were in the last few seasons of Star Trek TNG and DS9 had premiered at the beginning of the year.

Also I'm still not clear on if that extra "1.5" footage had an intended use for specific scenes and dialogue in Saban's Power Rangers, or if it was meant to be all-purpose/stock footage that they could just dub over anytime they needed to show Rita and minions plotting something in her lair.

Jan watches things sped up? Maaaaan. I find that a bummer. How does that not affect your view of pacing, audio, shot composition etc etc? ENjoying dialogue that's sped up seems so difficult.

SSSS.Gridman is really tremendous Jan, it's definitely worth a watch.

The reason why that boy is there is because in the original Sentai version of the episode, Rita (Or Bandora in that version) made not just Tickersnezzer grow, but a little boy too. It was to try to get back at his parents for being so mean to him

Also SSSS. GRIDMAN and dynazenon are super good! And the CG they use is actually pretty good which is rare In recent animes nowadays
