I'm trying to think back on when the 1-2 times I've locked myself out a hotel room and I don't think the front desk ever did any real security/ID check beyond asking my name and room number...

@number_one: I saw it, didn't like it. The cinematography was great and the acting was good, but the story was very uninteresting to me.

That story got a lot more sinister (mostly for men, who might have not been aware) after that article spread around about the rapist who got into his victim's hotel room using very basic tricks on the hotel staff :(

Considering what Mike was looking for in terms of therapy, that was really not cool on Dan's part.

I feel like if you're going to break into a hotel room to borrow a colleague's N64 you should leave a note on the door.

as someone who works at a hotel, when someone claims they locked themselves out of their room we ask for a bunch of information and it needs to match up AND we escort them and open the door for them, we do not issue temporary keys of any kind.

Granted, I work at a Disney World resort, so the added beefy security is bar for the course. But still, the idea that a hotel staff just gave Dan a key to a room based on his word alone is kinda baffling to me.

Can confirm the 4K Matrix blurays look phenomenal. They fixed the extreme green tinge the Ultimate Matrix Collection blurays had. Also, 2 and 3 hold up better than I thought they would.

What I wouldn't give for a Pauly Shore series of Film & 40s.

This episode doubles as a movie podcast...if you're into that sort of thing.

The reason you guys had trouble getting that one scientist to move was because he's carrying a gun and isn't as intimidated. In one of Dan's first runs in this level he had turned his back to the scientist and was shot.

lol.. The part halfway through when Dan just rattles off a phrase in Latin and its translation from memory. Ah. Truly amazing.

I don't get Mike's "I got food poisoning but I'm not going to say from where" comment. Can someone explain? Like why would you go out of your way to protect the place that got you ill -- in some cases, deathly ill if you are older or less immune to that sort of thing.

While I think I can generally tell when I am sick from food poisoning vs. the flu, I will always have doubt as to the source. I would feel bad blaming a restaurant's food, when it could just be a case of the flu.

FYI, if anyone is looking for The Borderlands - the horror movie Mike mentioned - it looks like it was released as Final Prayer in some territories.

The way Dan describes "Event Horizon" is 100% "The Ring" for me. I'm sure it wouldn't phase me much today, but even as a 16 year old in high school, that movie FUCKED ME UP. And I wans't the only one in my class either, people came to school the next day clearly having slept about as badly as I had.
