What did Jeff download to make Minecraft look like that?

@sacul64: its called seus renewed, but i'm unsure which version of optifine they are using with 1.16, since the last version was 1.14, and the newer ones are in preview

They really gotta grab some high res texture packs. The SEUS stuff is great for adding all the effects but with default minecraft textures, they're not quite seeing what they could be.

I love that Jeff's overlay keeps growing from week to week.

@subliminalkitteh: the preview ones are what they're using, they're usually pretty stable. I've never had a problem with them

Ugh. Well, this ruined Minecraft for me. I've been playing it on PS4 and actually having a pretty good time. Can't go back to that after seeing what it looks like with these shader packs. This looks so good, I'm kind of clueless as to why they don't implement something like this (at least as an option) into the game, officially.

I spent the last couple weeks fairly skeptical of how good Minecraft can actually look, just hearing people talk about it but not seeing it. How wrong I was.

@ohhi_itsjoe: They were totally planning on it, something called the Super Duper Graphics Pack, but it got canceled after like three years of development because it was too technically demanding on systems. Seems like maybe something they could take another look at with next-gen versions.

@jeff You should look into farming kelp (the plant Jan put in your waterfall thing) to make dried kelp blocks as a better fuel source instead of coal. It takes a little bit to get going, but kelp grows really fast and once you have a stock of dried kelp blocks you'll never need to mine for coal again except for making torches.

Jeff being down to one heart and still pushing futher into the cave is a real mood.
