Definitely don't listen to the Obra Dinn part if you haven't played it yet, it spoils a minor plot twist which I very much enjoyed when I played it. I wish Dan was more careful with this stuff.

My late grandfather was a HAM radio operator. I remember in like 82-83 him sending ACCII art back and forth with another person from the Netherlands. Third grader me thought it was magic.

Dan spoils some of Obra Dinn surprises without warning. It’s funny cause I can understand how he would see these things as inherently part of the game and not spoilers, but they’re definitely designed to be surprises.

P.S. I’m really not blaming Dan here, I really don’t mind spoilers in general, but I understand why some do.

Anyone having issues downloading on phone? For whatever reason I can download the Bombcast and All Systems Goku just fine, but every selectable thing on this page for me on phone is a "play button"

Blackout is NOT PUBG Abby.

Just look at the way weapons are implemented and used (recoil, bullet velocity etc.). It may seem on the outside like similar games, but they play very differently.

Sure, it has some differences, but Blackout has an inventory you can expand by picking up a backpack, it has attachments, it has some minimal ballistic modeling at certain ranges. Those certainly put it closer to PUBG than Fortnite or Realm Royale, both of which have a fixed inventory size, colour-coded gun loot with no attachments, and no ballistic modeling other than like basic projectile travel time.

Every time i click on more options and or try to download a podcast on my phone it just starts playing and pausing the podcast in the internet browser.. and its extremely annoying and really driving me insane.

What was the name of the movie again? Star babies? Star kids?

@bezerker285: Yes, I have the same issue. Something is messed up with this page. When I try to click the download button, it's like the play/stop button.

Going into VR will always be "punching deck" to me.

Podcast keeps stopping at 10:48 for me. Tape reel keeps rolling, browser functions fine, I can pause/play but the runtime doesn't proceed and no audio plays. It also won't pick up audio if I advance any arbitrary number of seconds or minutes forward...actually, it just started out of nowhere! Weird! Ok!

@ybbaaabby I didn't get any codes for the platinum xbox 1 x because I didn't want to buy that double chalupa box. I hate those things. It's just a weird boat of ground beef. I'd rather have two regular chalupas.

I spent like a summer or so listening to a self-described "free speech" ham repeater in socal. The FCC is obviously not monitoring that channel in any way. Cursing? Constantly. Full-on no-holds-barred racism? You bet! Broadcasting copyrighted music? Jamming other people's signals? False identities? Drug and alcohol abuse? People calling the cops on each other? It's all there and it was alarming to say the least.

I’m glad the guys are enjoying Spyro. Those are some of my favorite games of all time and have been since childhood, and it’s rare that the games I grew up loving get any positive attention here.

Okay @alex I'm gonna assume you meant the first Hitman movie was the super shitty one. The second one is a pretty dumb fun action movie. But the first one is straight up unwatchable.

Don't worry Vinny, I know what Solar Babies is. It was produced by Mel Brookes and is probably his biggest flop if I recall.

Dan's over-the-top hate for RDR2 compared to Alex, Brad and Abby's love for it... yeah, GOTY podcasts are going to be "fun" this year. I mean, it already feels oddly tense whenever they talk about RDR2 with Dan. What a turn.

I'm surprised he did such a dramatic 180 on it. I loved the game and thought the epilogues weren't very good but it didn't make me instantly hate the entire game.

@madbootsy: @humanity: I think it will mostly just be good for Jeff. He'll have a strong ally to pull the game down a few notches.

Then again I'm not sure Jeff even needs the assistance after I saw him toroedo DOOM 2016 by himself solely because the game wasn't a multiplayer revolution like the original was.

About eighteen years ago my next door neighbor installed a gigantic antenna on his roof and took up a HAM radio hobby....without "the proper filters" as it would bleed over our television. When we approached him about it he said "he'd look into it" but he continued on and when further pressed on the matter he said the other neighbors weren't having any problems, "so I don't know what to tell you."

We contacted the police but they told us there was nothing they could do as the FCC handled that sort of thing, and during the slow process of getting in touch with them it ramped up over the holidays to the point where I would raise our window and yell back the last line of whatver his conversation was to which he would tell his buddy "the neighbor's yelling at me, they're so fucking anal about a little noise coming in over their tv." Only it wasn't a little noise, it was louder than the volume of what we were trying to watch at the time.

The situation eventually improved however as things took an unfortunate turn as he sadly took his life after learning he had cancer. A few months passed, his family moved out, the property sat vacant for awhile, but one night a friend of his pulled up in an old busted station wagon with a huge antenna fastened to it and once again we got interference over the television. I guess he didn't know what happened....or maybe he did....as he sat there for ten, fifteen minutes, asking if he was there....with an almost heartbreaking final transmission of "where are you???"

This story fucking rules (I mean, I'm sure it sucked at the time, but in retrospect the idea of you screaming his previously stated lines out of the window is hilarious to me now). Thanks for sharing it.

I'm still deciding if the story in RD2 is gonna get good enough I wanna avoid the Goty dicussion that will spoil it..or not. The game hasn't gotten me to go back too it in over a week, though I enjoy the 5ish hours I've put into it so far. Its just not grabbing me (as the first one didn't really). Perhaps the slow pace, perhaps just the over-load of open-world games this year without the kind of break a game like Fallout 76 would have provided..if it were single player/co-op and not, you know, shit.

Alas.
