@austin_walker As someone who GM's occasionally, and can only really work out of pre-built campaign books, your talent at weaving custom narrative is always a feat to behold.

holy shit, austin is an amazing GM

I would love to see giant bomb contract a DM for a weekly show for a limited campaign. I would like to see them have a traditional Dungeons and Dragons campaign experience where they actually get a chance to roleplay within a properly set-up DnD world with combat rules and a Roll20 grid etc.

Many DMs sell campaigns for $200 to $300 a session. A ten week campaign would be $2000 to $3000.

Neal Pass (Koibu) Ericsson is an excellent example of a DM who does campaigns in a similar fashion.

A podcast version would excellent along with the VOD version.

My dream team would be Vinny, Abby, Ben, and Brad. (JUST NOT DAN LOL)

Hard Markinson is the best. I like 'had it with this bullshit' Hard more than 'I wanna fuuuuuuck' Hard, but he's good nonetheless.

This was great and everyone did a great job. Alex and Vinny are the best. Austin's an absolute star. Jeff Bakalar is a gift. Felt sorry for Abby because this is the kind of group that makes a lot of references that go over her head but she nailed it as per usual. It's never a bad idea to have someone as experienced with improv and RPGs as she clearly is. Thanks and keep up the great work.

In my head Mars Nobody is a galaxy shaped like a humanoid who shape-shifts into various rapidly evolving species within the contents of his cosmic body. Genuinely loved the arc of Hard Markinson's tale culminating at the mecha singles' bar. Dr. Aass might be the most aggro doctor character I've heard of in these kinds of space procedural TV shows but I suppose he got the job done. Lincoln Ghost is never not a class act.

I very much appreciate that Austin has taken time out and put in work to head these goofy year-end episodes for the last few years

Great work on this year's special wacky episode.

This was a good one (and Mars Nobody really is a hell of a name). But I think I liked the first two of these more than last year's or this one, and it has nothing to do with Dan or Abby, they've been great. The mechanical simplicity of the games those first two years allowed them to be much more collaborative and Austin was more of a fellow player than a GM; but now he is entirely a GM and helping guide them down a story. Austin's an amazing GM, and I've really liked what I've listened to of Friends at the Table, but I enjoy listening to the Beastcast crew figure out improv scenes more than overcoming GM-created challenges.

I still had a blast listening to this, but if they do another one next year, I hope they use a ruleset closer to Fiasco.

This was fantastic!

Just finished this and thought Austin picked the perfect style of Roleplay game. Quick start up and easy to push through events. I really love it when Austin does these end of the year table top GMing. Every one did very well and the story that coalesced through Austin's and everyone's input was fantastic.

Gotta say, I'm only about half way through and I'm already shipping Hard P.Ass.

Haven't listen to this yet because I'm still listening to GOTY, but I absolutely love these episodes every year and am looking forward to this one. Happy New Year, y'all.

Doctor Pee Ass is a treat, and really enjoyed this one overall. Vinny just about killed me near the end with the judgement of Darcy.

@metalface: i missed it till it was mentioned on todays beastcast myself. austin really is great , last years special is what made me finally listen to friends at the table even tho i'd been following austin's stuff since he joined phil on streamfriends

I was playing online games with a friend who lives in NY and he was talking about the power plant explosion fire whatever thing on that night that it happened. Funny that it cropped up in here as well.

In my head Dr. P. Ass is Doc Savage but dumb.
