Dan might appreciate this since he’s brought up not wanting to hunt down a sensor bar multiple times now: For the Wii menu plug in a Wii Classic Controller into your Wiimote and you won’t have to plug in a sensor. The right analog stick controls the cursor and everything else works as you’d like expect. You’re welcome! lol

True in general, but Nintendo is particularly bad about this. It's 2019, and they're still so ridiculously tentative about their relationship to the online world.

I mean, come on. Nintendo makes a very healthful profit and maintaining file storage servers really doesn't cost that much for a company of their size.

Now I want Abby to do a Stardew Valley play through with Vinny. I think if she starts doing romance options she's going to fall in love with that game. Obviously it's amazing.

Also N64 is the most overrated console and i say that as a guy that was in high school when it was out. it was great at the time but don't go back. It does not hold up.

@supersambo: Is it possible that you could cite some of the problematic things you are referring to? I tried to find some via a cursory search and found it very difficult outside of like, two stories and one had a very strongly argued rebuttal.

Just wanted to shout-out The Expanse. I'm currently re-reading the series before the new book comes out and it's fantastic.

I don't blame anyone for not remembering it, because it was one of the most forgettable parts of a mostly forgettable game, but the wrestling thing has already been done in Hitman Absolution. It's where you take down the roided up Danny Trejo-looking character during one of his matches.

If you look at their training materials, Mermaids has a narrow view of the behavior that's acceptable for males & females, and it aggressively advocates for treating gender non-conforming behavior with medical interventions that frequently aren't medically recommended or are outright illegal for their target age group (i.e. minors). They've also repeatedly demonstrated in public forums and training sessions a remarkably bad grasp of basic biology (the infamous "42 pairs of chromosomes" comment) and don't seem to have an understanding of how the treatments they're recommending work or what they do. (Mermaids is a parental advocacy group; it doesn't have any significant input from the medical community in the field and has an outright antagonistic relationship with certain parts of it.) Transition is the right path for some people, but it's a significant medical challenge, and you have to be upfront with what's involved, particularly when dealing with minors, and make sure what you're recommending is right for the individual. Mermaids is reckless and aggressively ignorant in one of the worst possible arenas for those qualities.

@indigozeal: I asked the other poster as well, but would it be possible for you to direct me to some kind of citation for what you're talking about? I found a recording with the 42 chromosome thing that I had heard before, and one article from The Times, but literally everything else I can find are from sites that are either outright transphobic, seem to teeter on transphobia, or are at the very least TERF adjacent, and none of those feel particularly trustworthy to me.

This isn't a challenge of you or anything and I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything (I know how the internet can make things sound), I'm just genuinely curious.

For the record, I live in the US and honestly had never heard of Mermaids prior to HBomberguy's stream, so most of this is news to me.

My brother just got that same Elmore Leonard book, I'm excited to borrow it at some point.

I've always had an attention span problem with books, and audiobooks fixed that for me. I'll put on a book and pick up a clicker or platformer and all parts of my brain are satisfied.

its important to be aware that the uk is undergoing a massive culture war in the attempt to distract politics away from economic arguments (because someone has told celebrities they'll be taxed to oblivion and sent to gulags, our celebs aren't too bright), to cultural arguments and scaremongering in an attempt to keep the tories in power and continue to dismantle our schools, nhs etc
