I never thought i'd see the day where Vinny pulled a Dan.

It's amazing how long it took me to realize Abby's glasses. I guess that means they fit her style really well? I like it, if anyone's keeping score.

I don't know if their hardly knowing the mechanics at all makes the show better or worse? It flops so frequently between frustrating and hilarity.

At 1:44:58, just after Dan “rings the dinner bell,” he looks down and looks directly at the intruder sleeping in the crows nest. Not sure if he didn’t notice, thought it was a beastie, or just chose to ignore them.

The opening is good.

@jonskichov: Yea, if he were to just fish and cook for the crew, he would be adding a lot of value to the crew lol. But oh well. That's not how they play.

Too bad there will be retread, but this was a good episode! Hope for more and hope it clicks! The tales get better after this one.

As someone who plays a lot of Sea of Thieves and thinks it's one of the greatest multiplayer experiences in a LOOOONG time... I agree completely.

I know Sea of Thieves isn't for every one. It's a game that has a LOT of downtime and what Rare lays out on the table isn't readily apparent to everyone.

I'm honestly unsure if this game is clicking for them, and that's a shame.

For what it's worth Giant Bomb crew, fishing is pretty easy:

Cast out your line and wait for a fish to get on the hook, as soon as it does hit the trigger and your character will let go of the fishing reel in shock. Hit the trigger again quickly before the fish snaps the line to initiate the mini-game. At this point the fish will move in various directions and what you need to do is tug the line in the OPPOSITE direction the fish is swimming. Do NOT try to reel in the line, if you do you will risk snapping the line. Eventually the fish will tire out and pause it's escape, and you can tell this by your character relaxing their hold on their fishing rod; now is the time to reel in. Repeat until the fish is fully reeled in. Bask in the glory of the Splashtail.

Dan is my favorite person ever.

If they want to keep Dan under control they need to attack and sink at least one player boat per episode to satisfy his piratey bloodlust

This series can be hard to watch because of the long downtime.

Love watchin y'all play this, I dropped off this game pretty quick - so it's cool to see the additions.

They should have left Dan in the brig.

I wonder how many more of these they have left in ‘em. They’re fun for the podcast rambling but mechanically the game seems a little more demanding than what they’re putting into it.

I find Dan's apathy distracting.

I'm not sure if this is a good game for Dan. He appeared bored during parts of it. When he created his own fun it looked to rub some of the others the wrong way. CNet's Jeff might have been a better choice, although in all fairness, it was Dan-like play which reinvigorated SoT on Twitch. On a more positive note, love the Abby specs.

I hope these guys persevere with this this game - the long nature of the adventures makes it difficult for live episodes but i like the element of chance in the streams .. Loving Sea of Beasts

Dear CBS give Dan a raise. He's very funny to watch.

I love that GB have a Sea of Thieves stream! Been playing since alpha and I adore this game, even more after the mega update. While agree that this game has some downtime, this game allows for POSITIVELY HILARIOUS moments with the GBeast Crew. It's a perfect game for Dan to be Dan.

An idea for a SoT stream which would be less time committed, would be for the Crew to try and win an active Skull Fort. Just sail to the big skull cloud in the sky. Then the game becomes a hoard mode of skeleton waves. You keep fighting until you get the skull fort key. The vault holds about 25 to 30k worth of loot. Of course, you have to return to any outpost to try and sell all the treasure hoping other players don't attack you. :)

Oh ya, inside the skull fort vault is the Mega Gunpowder Barrel, which is basically the equivalent of a nuclear bomb. Perfect for the Crews shenanigans.

I really hope they keep playing. Like i said, I know there's downtime but there is a really rewarding game experience in SoT, especially the more you play it and the better you get at it. The fact that other players can troll with them is fantastic. There's really fun moments to be had and captured on stream with this game. Especially with the GBeast Crew.

Is Dan going to rediscover the mermaid every episode????

I would suggest that if you are just going to guess which island it is instead of puzzle solving, you should just let chat tell you.

Have to agree with some of other comments on this series, seems like Abby and Vinny are having fun whereas Alex doesn't seem to like it and Dan seems bored and just wants to a troll/griefer to his own team. The dynamic for this particular series seemed better with Backalar instead of Dan. Or maybe this games just too much for the GBeast team.

Bring back Jeff B. please
