comply foam tips are your friend. they stick like glue, and allow you to hear more at lower volumes (which is better for your ears).

also- at the risk of sounding like an old man- no amount of online trash talk is 'acceptable.' unless you're on my friend list, you're getting muted. but then again, i don't really play online competitive games.

Fucking hell, I am very certain that MK talk is all made up and none of it happens in the game BECAUSE IT SOUNDS BUNCH OF NONSENSE.

I agree with Abbey to a point, the art style just makes everyone so macho and, hence, unappealing.

WTFast has been around since the early World of Warcraft days in one itteration or another and has never seriously taken off.

Because it's essentially the "gamer" equivalent of get a bigger dick pills scam, that stays afloat because there is a sucker born every minute.

PS: A lot of the questions Vinny has about what happened to missing characters is answered either in the Krypt or through the VS. interactions between characters at match start.

Tried WTFast several years ago when I saw my ping tank from 60 to 180 in League. Ran trace routes and I could see where it was hitting a bad node, so figured why the hell not. It did work, my ping returned to normal, but I suspect it won't make a difference for those who don't have the sort of obvious packet-path issue I did.

I can't imagine the "tech" behind this is "owned" by anyone though, just seemed like a series of proxies to me.

I'm guessing the news about Peter Mahew didn't break when they were recording this week's Beastcast.

Internet still sucks out here in rural Kentucky. Our best option is a 4G LTE router that gets between 1 and 2 bars, and we're somewhat lucky. I would love to be able to pay $60 for 100 down.

I was considering getting Borderlands 3, but at this point I just don't know. I'm sure there are probably a lot of good people at Gearbox working very hard, including I guess Johnny V now, but man do I not want to give any money to Randy Pitchford.

I really liked the part where they casually skimmed over guidelines meant to address online racial hate, as though this isn't like a real problem and maybe taking a light-hearted approach to the discussion is just normalizing it further.

Nothing like a room full of people of one colour, laughing about this stuff that will rarely impact them (Abby's totally valid, gender-based negative experiences aside).

@escapee: The thing is because it's using proxies, the game is reporting the ping to the proxy not to your pc, making it look smaller, since it's not the real ping.

@blackichigo: No, it's really not. I'm not part of the LGBT+ community, but I deal very carefully in any discussion around issues related to hate against that group. Same thing with other races i'm not a part of, or sexual orientations, or whatever else it may be.

Saying "well they never experienced it so...." is basically arguing that human empathy isn't a thing, and that unless you've personally experienced it, it's impossible to be measured in your discussion of it. That's ridiculous.

But what did you want them to say or do? Do we really need a 20 minute after school special on why racism and the n-word is bad. I feel like the people that need to hear that message probably aren't listening to this podcast.

Clearly everyone in that room knows racism is wrong and nearly everyone felt uncomfortable even bringing it up. So I understand them completely, trying to lighten the mood by making fun of the "solutions" brought up.

Good lord, people really hear whatever they wanna hear with this show sometimes.

I can assure you that everyone on the Beastcast thinks that racism is bad. You can breathe easy.
