After all the time spent talking about chair recommendations, I guess this is the first time I'm noticing that Vinny and Alex have racing style chairs now too.

This is only quasi-related to the podcast, but I love any story about Jeff's dad. I remember back when there was I think Street Fighter on ESPN, and Jeff's dad called him to say "What the hell is this on my ESPN?" and it cracked me up.

Seems like they fixed Abby's audio issue. Another thing I'd like to point out is the slightly blown out contrast on streams Vinny hosts.

The Riot/NEOM story is even worse when you consider that the LEC twitter account still had a Pride Month logo when they tweeted the announcement, and one of the most prominent members of the LEC on-air talent is a lesbian woman. The entire on-air staff threatened a strike/walk-out for the weekend's broadcast, which is almost definitely why action was taken so quickly. Shout out to them and the other Riot employees who said "yo, what the fuck"

There is a huge show off culture to miniatures out there, as well as custom mods and stuff. Especially if you get into games like Warhammer.

Also for chairs, I bought a Steelcase for 900 early in lockdown. A big investment but it's been so much better than any chair I've had and really has fixed my back issues I had been having. It should last for 20 years or more.

In Act 2 of Tsushima, I was starting to feel like the combat was getting to be too easy because Jin was becoming quite unstoppable, and that I'd burn out on it soon after. But then I bumped it up to Lethal and now things are way more tense and exciting. It gave it a little boost and made it feel like the Bushido Blade/Sekiro/Tenchu game I expected it to be. Having myself a ball.

And I disagree about the way they introduce the Ghost stance. It felt like "oh shit, he's starting to go too far" because he beheaded a guy purely to scare the attackers, and things got all red, and it was awesome at that point in the story. Mechanically, it's a little overpowered but worthwhile.

I can't hear the word "Schwepps" without thinking of the SNL NPR sketch "Schweddy Balls".

I just want to thank The Giant Beastcast's Abby Russell and Alex Navarro for turning me onto Schweppes. I had not heard about the delicious Schweppes seltzer drink before this podcast, but now I am definitely going to enjoy some nice crisp Schweppes after listening to this great episode of the Giant Beastcast!

@absoluteunit207: As someone from the UK, this was one of the more crushing cultural realisations I've had. Seltzer sounded exotic and delightful. But I (alarmingly recently) found out it was just sparkling water. It's shaken me.

I think Grounded would be enjoyed more if the looked into the mechanics of crafting first. Live first looks never work with systems heavy games, as they rushed pass some stuff at the beginning, like the analyser giving you blueprints and whatnot

seltzer is a genericised trademark and originally came from selters - a German brand of carbonated spring water. It now is used interchangeably for all kinds of carbonated or soda waters.

I finished Tales from the Loop a while back. Once I made it through the final episode, I was really satisfied with the arc of the show as a whole, although there were times along the way where the pacing was a little hard to take.

The whole thing with schools giving each student a laptop is crazy to me. My school only had like 2 or 3 mobile racks of ~20 laptops for the entire school that teachers had to sign out on a rotation (not counting the computer labs, which had desktops). But we had a family friend whose kids were 4 or 5 years younger than me, and starting in middle school, they had the laptop for every student thing. I thought it was the wildest thing ever when I saw them able to bring them home and stuff. And that was back in 2008 or so. I can't imagine what it's like now.

Schweppes and the reskinned pinball machine- reminds me of Schlitz - "There's just one Schlitz, yeah yeah" - which I think was used in some between the tracks of some ska CD from the '90s - which brings us back to @alex ?
