I do my best to bring on diverse voices and guests to GB, while also maintaining an inclusive space for everyone. We try to vet our guests to assure GB is a safe and inclusive space for everyone and I have failed that for this episode. Unfortunately, sometimes with these allegations they may seem very loud in certain circles but are silent in others. In this case, I simply did not know these allegations even existed before today.

I don't know about this Merritt character and I'm usually on the ball with news and LGTB+ gaming issues (being also a member of this community) as a whole, so I'll look into it. If she is a negative person and has caused upsetting issues to people, I also personally would recommend pulling down this podcast, adding the written note in audio form, then putting it up again with the warning at the beginning.
Keep it up, Abby, and acknowledging you unknowingly made a mistake, especially opening up with it to people on the anonymous interwebs, is one very brave effort. Love you Giant Beasties. <3
A year later, merritt k is still at Fanbyte under Danielle Riendeau - formerly of Austin Walker's Waypoint - whom I trust as much as anyone to take substantial allegations seriously, if there were any. So, that being said, looking back on this ... we can all admit that the "controversy" around this episode was just us being trolled by Abby-hating incels with axes to grind, right?
