I like the look of this a lot but also enjoying the secret joke that Austin is the worst at this from the score tables everytime.

This isn't a game I particularly needed a video of, Jeff has touched on it verbally in the past and I dont think Zachtronic's games have significantly changed their interface or goals in years.

None of that prevents this being one of my favorite videos in a good while. There's something to be said for an informal, longitudinal play session of a game you're enjoying. If anything having the commentary only provided by Vinny avoided the 'fill the air' dynamic which I'm tiring off in the current stream schedule.

Couple of notes for @vinny in case you want them (and if not, sorry!):

  • SWIZ has a variety of uses. You pass it a number or register in the first argument, then you pass the pattern that gets applied to the first number/register. The pattern is up to four digits long, and each digit should be 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4. A non-zero digit in the pattern results in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th digit (counting from the right) being placed in the digit's position from the pattern. So if you execute "SWIZ 6789 1111 X" then 9999 gets written to X, for example, and "SWIZ 6789 1234 X" will write 9876 to X. A zero in the pattern will insert 0 in that position.
    • I best understood it after the TEC Redshift task, where you have to enter a three-digit passcode one digit at a time. You can store your guesses in X and increment them by 1 on each attempt, but you can use SWIZ to pass the three digits of the number one-by-one to the #PASS register ("SWIZ X 3 #PASS", "SWIZ X 2 #PASS", "SWIZ X 1 #PASS"),T
  • You can save some lines on a lot of your code quite easily by remembering that EXAs will terminate without further instructions - so a DROP instruction followed by a HALT instruction at the very end of your code can be omitted entirely, because the EXA will just die and drop the file it was holding.
