Quick Look: Exception

Dry time for game releases huh..

No there are good games they just aren't playing all of them.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw and Remnant From The Ashes are both out, and are both awesome. Control and Astral Chain in a little over a week.

I dunno why they haven't talked about remnant yet it's very good and I'm loving outlaws so far.

Exception is a video game.

I'm surprised Dan's playing this instead of Anodyne 2 or Electronic Super Joy 2. I guess he can be playing multiple things. Or he's distracted by concerns about a certain collectathon feature... (which I'm very much looking forward to).

I still watch that Euro Truck Quick Look at least 8 times a year.

Real N+ Tron vibe. Might be fun but 15 is not a small chunk of change to me.

$15 would have made sense back in 2009, probably should have made the game shorter and for 5 bucks. Either that or expand the game metroidvania style while keeping the room flipping mechanics instead of a super meatboy style game like it ended up being

Jeez guys a little harsh on the price aren't you? This game is cheaper than an Apex Legends Skin! I guess thats a poor comparison because Apex Legend skins are such a good deal. Why would you want an entire game when you could get 1 skin for more? Pretty easy math right there!

I worked in consumer PC repair and custom builds for a few years. Literally every other person who brought their (typically) Walmart or Best Buy pre-built PC in because it was slow or crashing had half a screen's worth of browser add-ons exactly like that. People just click on things, for various reasons.

Also at first, I thought you were playing as the old woman who was getting digitized into an internet robot. She'd start out confused but quickly get the hang of it - that'd have been pretty good.

Control is in fact a game I'm eagerly anticipating! I got it queued up in the Epic Game Store thanks to a kind soul on the forums. Can't wait to get some Max Payne in my paranormal shooter.

@steveurkel: I've started it today and love the world and mechanics. Controls excellent.

My only gripe so far is that I cannot have the minimap rotate and the map is a little obtuse

Intro only reminded me of Noctropolis and how it was never a full playthrough.

@mento Just started Anodyne 2..loved the first one and I can tell that this will also prove to be a great game. The only thing I'm not really digging is the writing.

It seems like someone told them to check out a game called Exception and they got the wrong one.

This reminds me very strongly of the Xbox Live Indie Games supergreatfriend used to cover, particularly in the presentation of the opening and the scope of the levels. The neon looks sharp, and it seems to play quite smoothly, but the scope seems more befitting the XBLIG market. (I could be wrong, of course.)

When Dan started questioning the font on the title screen, I had to stare for a little bit, because it was familiar to me as well. Knowing Dan, I'm pretty sure it's gotta be one of the first three Twisted Metal covers.

Hmmmm. Seems okay. Dull as someone else said. I gotta ask though, why do a quick look? There are other games I'm sure the beasters would be more into. Plantfall came out and I'd guess Alex or Vinny would be more into.

@xneverknowsbest: Came here to post that as well. He's a huge TM2 fan,and that's what the font reminded me of.

This feels like someone's first videogame. It seems to play fine, but it's not good enough to be able to go toe to toe with competing products at this price.
