Also because absolutely nobody wanted to rebuy their games for a worse experience on a new unproven service by a company that is notorious for cutting projects quickly... it was DOA, even if they did advertise it widely.

Stadia was the best way for me to play Hitman and Destiny 2. I might replay Hitman Trilogy, but I doubt I'll dip back into Destiny 2 on a different platform. At least I'm getting all my money back, though!

I love the idea of cloud gaming to be honest. I jumped on board with xcloud as soon as I was able to when beta invites went out. In it's current state it is great for games like Octopath Traveler or to demo a new drop on Game Pass without installing it. I don't see cloud gaming taking off until internet service is no longer considered a luxury service and viewed as a utility and made broadly available. There has to be significant strides in wireless tech that 5G has yet to deliver on.
