[EDIT2] I was certain that StarCraft 2 would have been number 1. Also expected Mass Effect 2 to be top 3.

Surprising list, i'll say. i was certain that etother StarCraft or Mass Effect was at number one. It's a good list though.

Very good list Brad!  You've almost got me wanting Starcraft 2 despite my deep hatred of everything Blizzard.  If that $60 price tag ever lowers I may actually buy it.

That's a really solid list.  I've enjoyed all the GB GOTY stuff, but this is probably the list I can most closely relate to.

Have to say Brad surprised me with his  #1 pick i was expecting Star Craft 2 for sure, i also thought he would have placed Mass effect 2 higher than he did but hey what do i know.

Excellent list, the most in line with my own. Wish I had the patience and forgiveness to put Dead Rising 2 on my list, must have spent about 80 hours on the various 2010 Dead Rising games.

Good list.  I think Alan Wake is my GOTY because it's just damn satisfying to play and the story does a great job of reeling you in.

Nice underline stab at Deadly Premonition. Saying Alan Wake does the "best" Twin Peaks impression. Even though Deadly Premonition is practically a recreation of the story.

Hell yeah. Not only did he choose my personal choice for game of the year, but this is one of those videos that spits in the face of the haters. Brad is an articulate-ass mother fucker who writes like a beast and does a very great job explaining why he loves the games he loves.

I'm convinced that Brad-lovers must only listen to every other word he says. Brad may be an incredibly smart individual, but his GoTY podcast arguments have been riddled with contradictions and hypocritical statements. His arguments in those podcasts are so objectively fucked up, I can't possibly take Brad seriously when it comes to these deliberations.
 
Nevertheless, an interesting list.

I'm no Brad lover. I love the Bomb Squad equally. I just feel a man like Brad deserves a bit of defending when assholes run so rampant in these comment threads. I don't understand how people found his arguments unfounded.  
 
Shadow Broker was a great DLC with a fantastic reward at the end, but Minerva's Den is a miniature masterpiece. That DLC needs more exposure, and I'm glad to see someone finally pushing so hard to get it recognized. 
 
His critique of Mass Effect 2 was fair as well, if *slightly* overblown. Sure the Bioware guys wrote some backstory to give the giant robot boss at the end of the game some context, but it still felt like a lackluster finale to one of the year's best games.  
 
His style of deliberation is to highlight the flaws in the opposition and I think it's a technique that works. Once you have a list of the top 3 best things of the year, you're wasting time praising them individually. We know they're the best. They're on the list. Brad chooses to find the flaws in each and see which one's flaws are deep enough to prevent it from winning. It comes off as harsh, but it's a perfectly acceptable approach. It's a deliberation. Not a circle-jerk.

that's one helluva list. even though i don't personally agree with all of them (enslaved??) i think it's probably the most relatable to me. i liked seeing alan wake and dead rising 2 get some props but was surprised to find me2 not in the top 3. did the whole "giant terminator" end boss perturb you that much? cuz that game was incredible otherwise.

Interesting to see Enslaved on there.  I thought it was a good game, but the second half (post-Pigsy)  really ruined the first half storytelling for me.
