Contradiction 2: Simon On The Run

Is anyone else disappointed that they relied on the tired old "Woman Scorned" trope? There were so many excellent avenues they could have taken to wrap the story up. It just seemed like such a flaccid ending, a let-down after such a fantastic game.

@dirtybirdy: I am, but I get the feeling that was due to lack of funding more than anything else.

I'm ready for this.

@beachthunder: If you buy the game, it's all the same to developer whether you play it or not.

I'd love to get to know more about Jenks's background story and motivations, what he thinks of himself and others. There is definite potential in his character, and while we didn't fully see it fleshed out here, I hope the sequel will delve more into him and perhaps expand the "universe" to affect more than just a small, sleepy English village.

@dirtybirdy: I was disappointed too. So much of this game is cool and weird, and it's the maybe the most boring way they could've wrapped it up. It didn't involve Satanism at all! It did seem like it was limited by their budget/time-frame but the game sets itself up for so much cooler possibilities. The ending felt super rushed

@dirtybirdy: I expected Rebecca to have something to do with it, but in the 'secret criminal mastermind' sense instead of just a wife reacting badly to an affair.

It seems so standard in comparison to the rest of the game's quirkiness. So, yeah, I am feeling a little dissatisfied by the conclusion.

They ended it showing they want to do another game and I fully expect that one to focus on Atlus.

This was so corny and funny and engrossing. I love this shit - reminds me of the good ole days with Phantasmagoria.

That was actually a really awesome way to reveal the murderer. I love that it was something so mundane. There's totally hints of greater conspiracy, but it grounds itself really nicely at the end there. "Oh yeah, there might be ghosts and demons and shit, but really it's was just a jealous wife acting rashly." Really makes all these absurd characters feel human in the end.

One of these days Alex will stop reading out loud. And that will make me happy.

All of this was great. You can see where a lot of the limitations in production were but this was excellent. Would love to see a follow up.
