@doctorclap: Yah I wanted to do this but episode 3 was the cut off point for me. Playing through all three episodes just to get to 4 and 5 seems a bit much. I might buy the game regardless just to support the devs. I really liked Remember Me as well.

Life is Strange day needs to happen. You have to beat the last two eps before GOTY.

Thanks for getting back to this guys. See you in two weeks. Man...next episode has some choices and things to decide for sure.

EDIT: Fuck I needed time to process this. I can't believe that ending. I think that what's going to happen is that Max is going to tell Chloe everything and eventually decide that she shouldn't have changed anything, and that the animals thing is a side effect of the time distortion.

I hope you guys finish this before GOTY.

While the time shift isn't exactly original, the timing of it is especially through a video game medium. Giving the players hours to get used to the status quo adds incredible impact when you change it all. I'm very impressed depending on how it plays out.

This game suddenly got really fucking interesting.

It'll be a real shame if you guys don't finish it before GOTY.

The tonal shift in the rest of the game will be interesting to see played out with the GBeast crew. From here out it's pretty intense emotionally. The places and situations they send the characters in are charged and I hope they can pull through before GOTY. The fourth chapter (especially the ending) will be something that can really throw your head off course until you process it.

I can't imagine the difference it would make to play chapter four and five back to back. Kinda interested to see reactions of the guys if they manage it.

I really think this game is amazing so far, and watching you guys play it has been one of my favorite features in awhile. I'd echo what some other people have said, and hope that you manage to squeeze some more in before GOTY, but it'd be understandable if you didn't given how busy you all are.

Regarding what a commenter here said earlier, I have to be honest and say that while I love Jeff, and think he's always been one of the funniest people on the GB team, I'd say that more than anyone else he can get VERY set in his ways, and when he has a knee-jerk reaction about not liking a game he can go pretty hardcore in the direction of dismissing it.

The way that he's talked about the Witcher 3 over the last 4 or 5 podcasts has completely baffled me, for example. Like, when that game came out he spoke frequently about enjoying it, and they all talked about how impressive it was, even with minor flaws. Then a few podcasts ago Jeff started saying something along of the lines of "Dude, when I first started playing I got a little ways in, and quickly decided I had no interest in the playing the Witcher 3 ever again." He also went off on a mini-tangent about how he didn't like the combat, got bored with the gameplay, didn't get into it, etc. etc. To be clear, this is all fine, I have no problem with Jeff not liking a game. But I've been listening to the Bombcast weekly for years, and this has been a bizarre whitewashing of everything they were saying about their experience with the game earlier in the year.

Anyways, got off topic there. This just seems like the kind of game I could see unfairly not getting its due, especially now that Patrick isn't going to be in on the discussion to help argue for its merits.

I'm so glad you guys are playing this! Not gonna lie, I started to tear up a bit when Max was walking up to Chloes house near the end. That was one of the most powerful moments in gaming for me this year. Can't wait to watch the rest of your playthroughs!

Come GBEAST! You can finished this before GOTY discussions. Just put the other streams on hold for the next couple of weeks and/or marathon it after Alex gets back into the office.

Just made a new active account so I could comment on this thread. I've loved GBeast stuff since it began and I'd love to hear Life is Strange in the GOTY discussion. I definitely agree with what @wandrecanada said. I think there are important emotional and gameplay moments that happen in the next two episodes that need to be seen in order for someone to form a full opinion about the game. I really just want to hear Vinny, Alex, Austin and the rest of the GB-SF crew talk about this game. Like it or hate it, it would make for a great conversation.

Undertale will be discussed a lot during GOTY but this game certainly won't and that's a shame. Not to downplay Yndertake in any way, just saying they're both emotional games that deserve to be discussed.

I couldn't wait and started watching a "no commentary" play through of ep.4 and man, this game is pretty legit despite the awkward dialog at times.

@humanity: When I played through the episode myself a few weeks ago I actually slapped my thigh at the ending.

I totally dismissed Life Is Strange before the GBeasties played episode one, then I bought it and played through in five straight days, an episode a night. It's gonna end up pretty high on my GOTY list.

Big thanks to Alex, Austin, Vinny and they people who suggested they play it in the first place. I'd have missed a little gem otherwise.

Every character is a piece of crap but only a few get called out on it.

Between that and the Portland twee, I find it pretty insufferable.

Finally finished watching it. Man the end messed me up when i first played it, but i was drunk and yelling at the tv. GB guys definitely had a more subdued reaction. But im with Vinny, as soon as the photo thing happened i immediately felt like they borrowed way too much from Butterfly Effect movie.

@dave_tacitus: Likewise. I was always interested in the game but never enough to the point where I actually wanted to buy it. For some reason it always gave off this trite vibe to me that kept me from fully committing to a purchase. Thanks to the Beast crew it is now definitely on my GOTY list. Good for DONTNOD, those guys managed to capture something special.

The soundtrack for this game is fantastic, they almost weaponized the use of music in the scenes they are used it. Going to have to get the physical collectors edition for the OST alone.

I understand if not, though. I love this game to pieces, I bought it after the first or second video they did and I have not been more pleased with another purchase this year. Hearing Life is Strange talked about for GOTY would be very cool and very appreciated. Also:

@humanity: I think Alex hit the nail on the head when he was talking about friendship. It's such a warm hearted game at its core, and very few are like that.

It's a shame that it sounds like they're not gonna have enough time to finish this before the GOTY talks.

Also, I'm glad they're enjoying where this game is going. I have a feeling they're gonna like it even more when they get through episodes 4 and 5.
