Saturday and Sunday are the weekEND. How can a week start at a day that's literally half of the weekEND. A week starts at monday.
I always figured the whole Sunday is the first day-thing was a US specific quirk, like all of the other really weird measurement types that are excessively complicated...

I was eating breakfast and drinking a cup of coffee when Dan got to The Rabbit story. The way he told it and Vinny's reaction caused me to burn the inside of my nose. Having Dan move to NY is THE BEST thing that could have happened.

@ripelivejam: I love Dan but I sometimes get exhausted that so much content he's on consists of people answering his questions about stuff we learned in grade school. He cooked egg shells thinking that's what egg whites were. As an adult!

This doesn't look bad. But I still don't see how this was a top 10 game... One guy on staff liked it -- and he hasn't played Story of Seasons, Rune Factory, or Harvest Moon... even that Alchemist game.... (or their spin offs). And with Terraria, animal crossing, etc... I just cant see it. Or Thumper... (I felt Drew was too passive and got screwed on his love of Abzu).

Oh well, it was their list :)

When Dan was telling the bunny/dog story, he was almost doing a Norm McDonald impersonation. The intonation was nearly identical. He may have watched a bit too much of that guy's stand-up.

I guess we know why Dan is the way he is now at least. Also, I love how he goes from talking about himself as a law abiding citizen and then being like 'I won't recognize this law though'.

When I was 13 I hit a rabbits nest with a lawn mower. Wasn't paying attention. Mama didn't want to leave her babies. Fucked me right up there for awhile.

Well, I feel bad that this is where Dan's save was to show Vinny, because Winter is the dullest season. I guess I can also see why Dan kinda stopped playing at this point.

At least in winter of year 1, you might still have quite a bit of wood and stone to clear off of your property, and quite a bit of the mines to explore, and you can do a bunch of fishing or whatever. But winter of year 2 and all subsequent winters are pretty slow since you probably have all the wood and stone you could ever need, you've probably long completed the original mines and done a lot with the other combat/mining areas of the game, and you've probably done as much fishing as you really feel like doing unless you're trying to complete the entire fish collection. And in the winter, you can't marry anybody if you haven't already visited the mariner dude that appears when it's raining.

It's a good season for just gathering eggs and milk and wool and so on from animals, and putting a bunch of stockpiled items into kegs and preserves jars, and talking to villagers so more of them to like you, but there isn't really much else to do in that season. I can see why Dan and Vinny weren't exactly thrilled with their options on this stream, but at least they found ways to amuse themselves. Also it was the very beginning of winter, so they couldn't even blaze through it to spring, or get to fake Christmas.

Also, holy shit, Dan made way too many Charcoal Kilns, when coal is almost never in short supply. Like, one kiln (the free one you get from the community center) is probably all you need for the whole game. Just occasionally throw some wood in the kiln if you're ever vaguely low on coal, but you get so much coal from the mines that it should rarely be necessary.

Also also, kegs are great and all, but so are preserves jars. You can put all sorts of things in both, and they pretty much all increase the original value of whatever the vegetable/fruit was. Not to say Dan's way of doing it is wrong, but like 30 kegs:2 preserves jars is a little lopsided, when there are all sorts of vegetables and fruits he could be pickling and jellying in preserves jars if he had more than 2 of them. I guess Dan's setup makes sense for how many hops Dan had stockpiled, but I'm just sayin', ain't nothing wrong with more preserves jars.
