I still think that York should have gotten guy to party with, and Deadly Premonition should have won best story. Argh.    
 
Wait...They didn't even mention it?! How do you have a discussion about best story without even mentioning Deadly Premonition?! That's a game that all of them played, and the story is easily the best part of that game, and arguably the only decent part. I mean, I can understand if they didn't give it the award, but to not even mention it? I'm disappointed. But whatever.  
 
Wait, never mind, they do jokingly bring it up, but I'm still disappointed, but whatever, they're entitled to their opinions, no matter how much I disagree with them.

Also, I still think Red Dead Redemption had the worst ending of the year. Almost ruined the game for me.

ALL final reapers look like 'squids', that's the design of their ships. The human looking machine was an unfinished reaper, and that's why all reapers are slightly different shapes, as each ship is made from a different race.

Brad's complaint about Mass Effect 2's story is bullshit, it had an amazing story, and alot of small stories around it with great characters

I would like to party with Francis York Morgan. I was in the middle of typing that when Vinny mentioned it, but yeah. Totally Francis York Morgan. I don't know if it would be a "party", but goddamn would that not be a great time.

People need to stop whining in the comments, just listen, smile, be happy they do this for our entertainment and not take things so serious. Would all the people complaining be happier if they never did this every year? Doubt it, and if they did then go to a different site. Less QQ more Intellectual thinking.

I get that Jeff wasn't very hot on the story, but it's pretty clear that they just forgot it. Good or not, it certainly was significant. Moreso than Alan Wake, I'd say.

Hey guys, asked this yesterday, and I got some helpful answers, so I'll ask again.
 
I just started playing Mass Effect 2 and would like to avoid story spoilers until I have finished the game.  The "Best Story" category seems like the place for that to happen.
 
So I ask to those that have listened to the podcast, are there any Mass Effect 2 spoilers within?

no AC: Brotherhood.....no Castlevania Lords of Shadow, hell even Nier had an awesome story and they at least deserve mentions

If only they knew of Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. :(

I wasn't really into the ending of RDR, I loved the story but I still think Mass Effect 2 was better
 
And the ultimate ending in RDR was kind of a letdown because:

Yea it was pretty weird that you had to fight a giant terminator at the end of Mass Effect 2.

I haven't finished listening to this podcast yet but on the topic of story concerning Red Dead, Red Dead's story drive was pretty much the exact same as Mass Effect 2, with the main differential being that Mass Effect 2 allows for different outcomes.  John Marston travels the land to find characters that will help him.  Those characters have Marston do favors which pretty much just tells their story.  Maybe you guys will get to that point in a few minutes, maybe not.  It just seems splitting hairs when you spend half the game doing favors for the B characters in Red Dead and downing Mass Effect 2 for having what I would argue to be bigger and better characters that are more involved in the overall story of the game.

The credibility is through the roof in the DS category. I love it.

You guys must have really been running out of steam in this recording.  How could you leave out Chuck Green for "Party With" category?  Beer helmets for everybody bro and then we'll go joy riding on motocross bikes with chainsaws.  Sounds like THE party to go to.  All other categories were accurately judged.  Awaiting more great content!

Brad needs to shut the fuck up, all his arguments are absolutely baseless.
 
and to you guys who said end of RDR > ME2:  negative. Riding around spamming a button to ride a horse while listening to mundane banter between you and your kid for TWO hours was awfullllll, it's too bad the damn kid didn't get murdered at the end for all the grief it caused me.

To then turn around and say this game doesn't belong on the list of best story of the year...  And then in this podcast you say it's story is disjointed!  You have ZERO credibility and I have lost all respect for you.
 
ME2 has the best story of 2010, hands down.
 
I am done with these GOTY podcasts.  Too much emotion and personal agendas, not enough honesty and integrity.
