Drake's Pangea3 joke deserved more appreciation. Sam Kalman always seems really cool so, as a site user I appreciate her making the trip, partly just for this. Hopefully someone can still make it happen when she's over here in the UK.
At 4:55:00 Matt Rorie throws change on the ground and walks away, Drew catches this and looks perplexed. I share Drew's confusion. Why you do this, @rorie?
Weird, but in the City where I live (around half a million people) , there are electric scooters as well and everyone manages to park them in such a way that they don't disturb others. Scooters are not the problem, people are the problem, scooters are just a reflection of peoples behaviour and attitude.
Abby is completely right about Modern Warfare. As much as BLOP4 is supremely unbalanced, I think it was the right direction for the series. It put the focus on the ridiculous arena shooting and less on the setting.
For the kind of story they want to tell and want us to have a reaction to war, it's impossible for them to make that kind of message when they're sucking at the teat of the US military - the biggest imperialist force in modern history (perhaps all history at this point).
@alex Excellent line-up of guests, as always! Thanks for you and the whole crew working so hard on this.
If you book Janina next year, maybe group her with the Lang Boyes? She's very entertaining but a little on the raucous side and it seemed to throw off a few of the more reserved folks in this group.
Natalie bringing up her Kindgom Hearts guild and the google doc waiting list is my favorite moment of E3. Jeff looks so confused during the whole thing lol
Oh man! Thanks GB, and guests who take the time to come on, for putting these shows on. They're terribly fun. Lots of great guests. The Game Workers Unite/Riot segment was a surprise and great.
P.S. Samantha was MVP of nite 3. That story had me fucking wheezing...
@millaj: Samantha is fire whenever she's on. She's like a fan who got to sit with the players, but she also spits fire just like the rest of them. The intense look on her face when she leans in to give shit to Dave killed me. Really wish she was around on GB more often, i miss her appearances.
Thank you to everyone in front and behind the scenes for a wonderful year.
All this talk about how different E3 is and how it's changed, there's one thing that hasn't and it's these nite shows. They're better and better each year. And definitely the best thing to come out of E3. So if E3 has to change and have less and less people, so be it. Let's just have a Giant Bomb convention and keep the opportunity to continue these nite shows.
Giant Bomb deserves major credit for not being this impersonal developer interview show like many other shows.
These shows are like having friends and family reunite each yeah, crack a cold one and share some laughs. They're amazing.
She's my dream hire, even moreso than Danny or Mary. Sam is super funny and in a way that contributes to the flow of the conversation instead of derailing it. She's got great energy and she's spent a lot of time in game dev too so she has a knowledge that a lot of the other crew don't.
Cyberpunk 2077 is nothing but a Deus Ex...unless they add a 3rd person cam. Then it's Deus Ex in 3rd person...with a character creator. But, still a Deus Ex. May be bigger, still a Deus Ex.
I can't stand the overly hyped reception around some games. I'm even skeptical of Kojima's games and I've liked everything that team has made (even ZOE).
Another great night/year. The segment with Danny was the highlight for me. Mary Kish is hilarious.
I hope you guys do a better job pairing guests next year. I was disappointed that Drew didn't have much opportunity to talk. He's a quiet fellow so that couch was too much for him to really fit in. Love hearing his stories and what he's been up to, like last time he was on.
