@zojirushi: They produce end of day videos, that are filmed in the press conferences and on the E3 floor itself. I assume that's why Drew is taking his whole PC, to edit those videos at the end of the day. They also produce 12-15 hours worth of podcasts.

So, two or three cameras, plus a whole PC, plus all of the equipment required to stream stuff, to interview people on the show floor, to record a podcast and plus all of the gamespot stuff probably.

It probably doesn't fill a truck, but its probably way easy to do that than lugging it there themselves.

@buckybit: This makes me want to speed up Brian Eno by 8 times and see what happens.

Live show mics, interview mics, multiple cameras, multiple computers, monitors, the tricaster maybe. Plus Vinny and Drew need computers to edit videos at night, and the rest of the guys will also be writing articles.

@legendarychopchop: Pretty hard not to. The formula for some of the games haven't changed much at its core in a decade. Games are all about shooting stuff, and not enough about creating stuff. People often forget how powerful being able to create is, even if its taking form in a virtual space.

Holy crap, listening to Vinny, Jeff and Ryan crack up over Brad's "He got a divine rapier and lost it" moment made me laugh like an idiot at this public cafe..

oh man the E3 location talk was so good, they seemed pretty miserable last year and that place looked so fucked up.

I've only watched like 10 minutes of Fantasia, I should probably finish watching it cause I know it's really awesome, I wasn't feeling it that day.

I was trying to find paraparaparadise footage to see what that thing is and I was not disappointed, can't believe that thing exists, I guess it's kind of cool cause you don't touch anything just move your arms in front of the motion detectors which are placed above the machine, fucking crazy!

The thought of inviting last year's guests, many of whom being wealthy industry luminaries, to that shitty location behind a strip club is hilarious to me.

I got to play paraparaparadise once at an arcade that used to be in Boston. It was completley in Japanese and I was bewildered...then I was really upset when the place closed down and I never got a chance to play it again ;_;

Ha, I totally had the moment with Halo: Spartan Assault and the trailer zooming out.

"Hey! A new Halo game. Awesome!" ... zoom out... zoom out... "Fuck!" :(

Wow, Ryan's comparison of Animal Crossing to Demon's Souls blew my mind. Makes a surprising amount of sense.

I would kickstart a bi-weekly podcast. Just saying.

that marvel mmo sounds terrible. and by terrible I mean completely mediocre and safe, with no real distinguishing features whatsoever. which is what terrible means in my book. especially since it's a fusion of diablo clone and boilerplate mmo, the two most creatively dead genres of games I can think of.

It makes me respect patrick more that he doesn't even pretend to show any interest.

edit: let me clarify that, I do respect Jeff's professional Company Man type attitude that leads to him being able to talk about shit that you know he probably doesn't really give any fucks about. because he can be very informative. but when he goes on and on about bullshit like this game, it drives me crazy.

Divine Rapier is not the most expensive item in dota. That title goes to the fully upgraded Dagon (Dagon lvl5). It's 8k something. The Abyssal Blade is also more expensive than the Divine Rapier.

Hopefully daily dota will be canceled soon.

It really is indescribable how much the Bombcast brings me enjoyment. Without this podcast, I have no doubt I would be more depressed.

@Animal Crossing: The effort and risk of missing things is an absolutely vital part of AC's design. Like Jeff found out, just having it handed to you, or available at ALL times would rob it of that (warning, $20 word) "Gesamtkunstwerk". Ryan's Demon's Souls allusion is very, very apt, especially in an age of comfort over quality in game design.

@Brad: I'm still watching, have only played a few matches. Learning alongside ya. :P

We'll have to disagree here, man.

This generation, while it is filled with many shooters, have presented some of the more fleshed out and varied games to come out. There's a whole ton of genre games and many more games of the major and indie varieties that have taken more risks and chances than any generation prior.

Really, the last 10 years of games have truly been a great place for games for all types, even if there's some cliche fluff and crap mixed in there too. There are loads of those in the past, too.

That only has one aspect of a limerick, the AABBA rhyme scheme. The meter is completely wrong. The A lines are supposed to have three "feet" of three syllables each, usually stressed like ta-ta-TA or sometimes ta-TA-ta. The B lines are supposed to have two feet. That would be 9-9-6-6-9, measured in syllables. Yours is 9-10-12-13-12, for comparison. I'll try to squeeze it down to fit in the limerick format:

Jeff reVIEWED games and PLAYED in a BAND,

though his LIFE had someTHING greater PLANNED.

It blows my mind that Jeff thinks the combat in Marvel Heroes is better or more active than Diablo 3.

That's why noone ever buys Rapier unless you are stomping hard. It has always been a joke item.

Just about anything should be better then last years E3 after hours location. Excited to see this years new location.

lol, noobs. Hawkeye was in the Avengers movie and he was in the Thor movie. I am constantly amazed how little of ComicVine bleeds over into the Bomb crew when he works 1 desk over.

It's always weird to me they act like going to E3 is the worst thing in the world. I get that it's hard work, but jeez, they act like it's going to kill them.

If you think that's bad, you should ask anyone at a retail store about the Christmas season. Everyone dreads that season where their job goes into that frenzied no-breaks crunch-time.

The Bombcrew at least has a general air of humor and positive excitement about it.
