Giant Bombcast 07/28/2015

Clicker games sound like a nightmare from the description Jeff gave, as a person who can't stand colored loots and random drops. Is there a similar nightmare genre for the people who do way more collectibles than reasonable?

Because Birdie and Charlie were revealed already, I was thinking a lot of the cast at launch is gonna be Alpha guys. Karin, R. Mika, Sodom, those kinda characters. Sort of don't mind if they do. They're hardly as iconic as the SF2 cast or anything, but SF5 has made some exciting changes to old characters designwise and I'm confident they're gonna add all the favorites eventually anyway. Would be cool to see those characters in 3D after such a long time. Even some of the 4 characters would be fun, I was pretty into Hakan, Gouken and Juri. Besides, they got their bases covered this time and have revealed several familiar guys, more than 3 had. Even if the game lacks Zangief, I'll be fine.

Pocket Casts on Android here as well. None of my premium feeds are updating. I even tried to delete and readd. I add the regular feed and it's fine there. Must be some issue with Pocket Casts and password protected RSS feeds.

Same here, never showed up on Pocket Cast for Android.

Consoles are where arcades were in 2000. Now that same quality tech is coming out somewhere else, there's less reasons to buy there except for absolutely mandatory exclusives (ride games vs 1st party exclusives). It is only a matter of time now. /controversy

Oh wow, yeah, totally forgot about them. And Dudley is one of my favorite Street Fighter characters, period. It's been way too long since I last played SF IV.

I actually prefer these podcasts with the adds. There's something great about listening to Jeff and Brad ironically schilling for CBS properties.

The other thing about bringing MGS4 to other systems is that there are a lot of explicit references to the Playstation 3 in that game.

Dan is right about the artificial light thing in the bedroom. Using a screen like your phone or a tablet tricks your brain into thinking the sun is rising or something and can trigger insomnia. It's not just about using them in bed, and some people I know use f.lux on their desktop to auto-adjust the brightness/coloring of their monitor to help mitigate the effect.

I thought Haze was alright. It had an interesting take on what I'd call the "super-soldier" FPS trope and flipped it when you get 'clean' and off the Nectar drug and your former comrades are revealed to be insane blood-splattered drug addicts. I don't think there is any reason for a sequel, though.

Although I hated Lair and never finished it, I think there is a ton of potential there and I'd love to see someone take another stab at it.

I guess the clicker talk made it clear to me why I don't like Diablo II and other loot games. I loved Diablo 1 for it's setting and atmosphere, but I found a weapon I liked and stuck with for a large part of the game. This constant thing where you just get a new one with higher numbers every 5 minutes isn't my kind of thing.

I drink coffee at like 10 at night and use my iPad until the moment I put my head down to sleep, and never had any problems entering the land of slumber. What Dan said reminded of my hairdresser telling me she only uses her bedroom for sleeping in... I remember thinking: what a weirdo!

Brad's right that you can't currently bring a team into Rocket League's ranked 3v3 queue. You are able to party up for Doubles, at least. Ranked 3v3 is on its way, but Psyonix stated on their forums that they unfortunately didn't have time to integrate it properly for launch.

Stories about moms selling their child's possessions because they're in college always make me irrationally angry. There's just multiple facets to it that seem ridiculous. I guess a big part is that personally I graduated college but I still live at home, so the thought of coming home after that and having all my shit gone is terrible. But even not in my case, I feel like the child at least has the right to decide themselves whether or not they want to take the possessions with them when they eventually move out to their own place. I guess the parent feels that since they bought the stuff originally (presumably) they have the right to sell it when they want. I just vehemently disagree with that notion.

But that's me. I never even really had a "collection" to speak of, so none of it applies to me. Which is why I said irrationally angry.

Anyway, the reason for my post is my confusion over "premium" content. Why is this considered premium content other than the regular Bombacst Premiumness? I see that I listed to this a week ago on Stitcher and it is actually about 3 minutes longer on Stitcher?

Please don't hate, I just want to know what determines the content so I know when and when to look for it.

@brian3dw: Premium Bombcast is a Bombcast without their ads. A lot of premium duders listen to the normal bombcast because their ads are kinda funny. If you're looking for a great list of great premium content, check this list.
