It's frustrating to me when people are bitching about Dan's opinions/eating habits/etc.. because it seems to me that MOST of the staff that work at Giant Bomb seem fairly uncultured in the traditional sense, as well as most of them having terrible taste in food. Isn't that some small part of why they make up an interesting bunch?

Drake.. you know what isn't fun to listening to? mean spirited poking fun at Dan. You know what IS fun to listen to? Dan's stories and opinions.

That's not strictly true. Blizzard was up front about the fact that Hearthstone was not going to be a digital version of the original WoW TCG, but an entirely new game. It borrows some of the basic concepts from the physical TCG, but the two don't play identically.

Good show this week. I love Dan's stories.

So much shilling, yet so good. This John Drake guy could do well in PR.

At the 40 minute mark and this ep is very much Drake heavy, to my discontent. I know people like him but I'm not a fan - his smarmy PR-ness rubs me wrong.

Them saying there is a backward compatibility problem with PS1 and PS2 games surely is just a way for them to make you pay premium for those titles through a streaming rental service. The PS4 can easily emulate PS1 and I would argue also PS2 games. The fact that they are saying they will offer streaming of those consoles in the first place is evidence enough that they have working emulators (also obviously PS1 being fully software emulated on PS3, PSP and Vita) to be able to stream them out, it's not like they got a rack of old consoles streaming feeds out to people.
If they offer PS1 and PS2 games on that live stream, but don't offer people to just run them locally through a disc (or download) I'm calling bullshit on this whole thing.
It doesn't really affect me personally since I still got those old consoles, but I think it's a pretty shitty thing if they don't offer local emulation.

Drake is one cool guest. Enjoy all content he is in. Also i love the addition of Dan to the team, he is great.

Patrick is great, Dan is great, Alex is great and Drake is great. The rest of them though, not really feeling it. Wish the bombcast was made of those four and and not the other four.

Another hilarious episode. Dan's stories are the best and always bring a big dumb smile to my face. He knows who he is, what he likes, and what makes him happy and that is awesome. He certainly brings joy to my life with the way he is so I say he's pretty great.

Drake is always fun to listen to as well. Sounds like he will still be traveling quite a bit though. I wish PS4 had something coming out this year that made me want to buy one before a Xbox One but it doesn't. I'm looking forward to Sunset Overdrive on One in October and will get a couple other multiplatform games for that console in the Fall.

Glad to see Dan enjoyed Apes and Guardians of the Galaxy. Wonder if he'll see Turtles since he's the same age as I am and would totally have been able to watch the cartoon at the time. I haven't eaten Taco Bell in years. I don't trust the local store and I have three better options for Mexican food in my area.

If Drake were on every Bombcast, just to call Dan out on his life at every turn, I would think Dan a worthy addition. Without Drake being the voice of reason and the others just letting the Dan-isms slide, it's a little stomach churning.

Can't get enough of @DanRyckert's stories.

@johndrake's recounting of the adventures of Matt Kessler (@mattbodega) makes me more and more convinced that Matt should really come home to Giant Bomb.

Dan is a wonderful specimen of the human race.

I am highly entertained by the people who get SO MAD at Dan for being what he is. I wonder if it's his comfort with his stupidity (that he is well aware of) that annoy people so much? Like, I WISH I was this okay with my dumb choices to be able to look back at them and go: "Wow that was actually really funny let's tell these stories on videos and podcasts that hundreds of people will hear."

@vitefish: I actually plan on using Squarespace and have recommended Stamps.com to multiple people because of the podcast. The ads genuinely make me laugh and it makes me remember the advertised much better.

@sydlanel: Yeah he made a really good fist of it, but came pretty close at times to being mean. It's really hard to be the one to give someone else a shake-up without hurting their feelings too much. Dan's a nice guy, his passion and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated, but there's no reason why he couldn't learn to be more aware of his fellow human beings.

There's a local place here called Mighty Taco that is not very good, but it is basically a good version of Taco Bell.

Man I absolutely love Dan's presence on the podcast now, and the back and forth between him and Drake was funny and all-round excellent.

I hope all future ads are Brad and Drew discussing their plans to overthrow Jeff. A worthy successor to Small Businessman.

My God Dan is the greatest thing to happen to the world. Don't stop.

I probably did not know that fake glasses were a thing in 1st grade.

I probably tried to do lots of things that would cause real lasting harm also.

For the documentaries for 3 games I'm thinking... Donkey Kong Country, Diddy Kong Racing and Conker's Bad Fur Day. All had pretty interesting backgrounds we don't really know enough about. DKC was a pioneer, a contemporary of Toy Story. Diddy Kong Racing only became what it was because Nintendo had a Holiday window with no games scheduled for it so an off beat racing project had to become a holiday hit. Conker is a crazy thing to come out a Nintendo second party, how that happened would be neat to see.

I'd be also interested in Banjo-Kazooie because Stop N Swap and It's Mr Pants because it was being developed during the buyout as DK Coconut Crackers and the decision to put the website's mascot in it was odd.
