Vinny touched upon the Quick Look 'debacle', regarding what the player's knowledge of the game should be. Jeff 2.0 said it should reflect what the average person would experience, and Vinny said that, if there's a slog in the beginning, the player should know. I say screw that; a Quick Look should focus on the best of the best content, should relay to the viewer all the cool shit they could play if they'd buy the game. It's the same as watching someone play sports or perform some kind of athletic action - I don't want to see people struggle through the beginner shit just because that's the "normal experience"; I want to watch people throw 100mph balls, KO a dude, cross the finish line first, score the winning touchdown, etc. because that's where maximum enjoyment is derived from, not the training sessions before.

Hopefully they read this and take it to heart.

I could not disagree more. Yes, seeing people be awesome at something is great, but if it takes 100 hours for them to become that great, that means the guys will show less video games because they're practicing that one game and it means they're not showing what the player spends the majority of the time doing -- practicing. The strength of quick looks is that it's just a quick look at a lot of games, not an in-depth look at one game. There are plenty of people on youtube who are (less entertaining, but) awesome at a particular game.

Plus, the quick looks where it's just 30 minutes of non-stop information are so boring. "Here's how this system works, here's this collectable, here's this screen and what all the collectable's do, here's the main combos, here's how this other system works." I so much prefer when they just play the game and give honest reactions to whatever is happening.

And as per usual no one can pronounce Suikoden correctly... Seriously people, it's not that hard, just read out every syllable seperately... Su-i-ko-den. With Japanese pronunciation. Which should be really easy, for everyone, since Japanese is objectively the easiest major language to pronounce in the world.

Most I've laughed while listening to any podcast, not just the Bombcast, in a very long time. I attribute it to the editing and music selections.

The real question is: How do you pronounce Crystalis?

I always said kris-STAL-iss.

Anyway I really appreciated the editing on this one and it was good to hear from Brad Muir and Jeff Green again. Good stuff!

Great hockey chat, guys (and thanks for not calling it "ice hockey")! By mentioning fights and concussions, you just tapped into the national debate going on in Canada. Yes, fights are allowed in hockey, and the refs rarely break them up. They basically wait until the fight is clearly over (usually once one of the players is off his feet) until they pull them apart.

You shouldn't be allowed to just show the "best part" and say it's an indicative Quick Look. Imagine if Brad had shown off Final Fantasy 13 after 40 hours of slog, and said "The game is pretty interesting and fun" and just showed us the good part.

OMG, half-way through the news when @vinny edited-in music beds, sound effects, and tweaked the timing on some of the delivered lines might be my favorite thing to happen on the Bombcast EVER. It was like an episode of RadioLab! SO GOOD!

I used to think Tecmo was Temco. It was especially confusing when ads for the original Deception in EGM would misspell the name as well.

EDIT: Since I started listening to Comedy Bang Bang, regular "Would You Rather" scenarios just aren't as fun. Vaguely worded questions that are greatly improvised and expanded upon by the host make the whole thing more entertaining.
