The Bombcast was great as usual, but, seriously? That ending music? Can that be the new ending music?

Something about it just makes my soul happy.

Wow..none of these guys have watched professional hockey in a while have they?

You can no longer pull jerseys over heads in fights, there is a "fight strap" on the back of the inside of the jerseys that hooks into their pants. You can get ejected from the game for not "tying down" your jersey properly.

The NHL has gone a lot farther in the direction of protecting players. They are now suggesting players wear visors(there may be a mandate about that in the future), and they now get fined and take an extra penalty if they take off their helmets in fights.

Holy cow this podcast was great!

I love you Mr. Gerstmann, but the past two episodes w/o you have proven that Vinny needs to be the podcast host and editor.

The flip side of that, though, is that they can make a game look a lot more problematic than it actually is by trying to show it off before they really understand what they're doing. Maybe that's the trade-off you have to make in order to get that sort of unscripted reaction to a game, but it can sometimes make for a really bad first impression.

Yes, I'm the guy who yells at his monitor. Just know that I do it out of love and respect for the guys, and the games they play.

@patrickklepek: Five Guys is a solid fast food burger. Do it (note that the regular size burger has two patties. I recommend saving your health and getting the small). The fries are good with a dash of cajun seasoning (they overdo it sometimes, so maybe ask them to hold back on that).

No way! These are great, but you cant go wrong with a healthy dose of the Gerst. It proves that they can both do it though, maybe they can switch it up sometimes. But if not then im totally cool with that too.

But now we do need a Bradcast, just to know! :>

@melodiousj: I think it just depends on what type of game it is and how "serious" they are about it. The sports quicklooks are amazing not because they show off the game well but because they're entertaining. Then you have Brad or Jeff play something else with the same attitude (not trying to learn the game mechanics or paying much attention) and it's infuriating.

If they were more up front with games they were familiar with versus games that they're just quick looking for the heck of it I think a lot of those complaints would go away. Instead, people come into every quick look assuming it's going to be a good representation of the game and then are upset when it isn't.

Brad sounds so happy and like this ":D!" in this episode. He should keep it up. Also, no restroom breaks from him every five minutes. Must be Vinny's hosting abilities because nothing else changed. Everything is normal.

Vinny should always be host and should always edit the podcast. I don't care what feature would need to be cut to make this happen. MAKE IT HAPPEN

I dont usually bother to comment even thou i like bombcast but Vinny is excelent host for Bombcast. I wish he would host permanently. Somehow he manages to make bombcast feel upbeat

Portillos bit was amazing. And made me realize that This American Life probably wouldn't be much without the dramatic edits.

Around here the NHL game tickets are around $60+ with the minor leagues going about half that so sounds about right for the game Drew went to, should be some fun there & believe that the minor leagues sometimes will go into the sick/substitution roster for the NHL so if they lose people or the NHL needs to go in the off season will sometimes jump into the minor leagues for a while.

Jeff Green is literally God. Love that guy!

Amazing show this week!!! Understudy Brad and Jeff are always a delight, and there were some great discussions to boot. Plus Mr. Muir's totally on-point "emails" even surprised me; clearly he has been training every week for this role :D

And Vinny just went all out with the editing/production, loved it. I was dying when Patrick was describing the "myth" of Portillos and that music kicked in.

Vinny's made-up Dark Souls' bosses sound amazing. Exploding butts. Flesh melting skeletons.

I had something to say about dog boots! I just wanted to say that in addition to Vinny's comment about salt getting stuck in their paws, a lot of people also use antifreeze during the winter and dogs can step in puddles of it, lick their paws later, and get sick. So just make sure your dog doesn't step in any mysterious puddles and check her paws semi-regularly to make sure there's nothing weird in there and you won't have to be a weird guy with boots on your dog. Happy Chicago winter to you my friend!

Also today my dog went to poop and the wind blew so hard it knocked him over into the poop. So. Yay Chicago.
