When I saw Elite in the show notes i did not expect Jeff to be the one playing it.

Three quick points though.

1. Horizons is actually out, but they are treating it as a season pass so the content for it will be coming out over the next year, so not really early access.

2. Having hardpoints out means you can accidentally fire your weapons. Do that near a station and bye bye ship.

3. The word Drew was looking for was "Interdiction"

@danryckert Sorry bud, but I think your movie theater is an outlier. I worked at one for 3 years and we DID NOT allow people to bring outside food/beverage in. We would stop people from being able to bring it in if we caught them.

Although, honestly most people working there brought our own candy and what not. Just don't get caught!

The latest Steam streaming update brought my Steam Link from "This thing's fuckin trash" to "Yep, I can see this working out".

Still can't get used to the controller although now it plays awful 1998 cellphone ringtones when you start it.

The Xbox Elite controller is fucking incredible. I love it. Can never go back to a normal Xbone controller

Dark Souls is The Original Trilogy, Dark Souls II is The Prequels, and Bloodborne is The Force Awakens. Even though Bloodborne/The Force Awakens deliver all the things that were so annoyingly absent from Dark Souls II/The Prequels, (good storytelling and the proper atmosphere & craftsmanship), the most essential things that made Dark Souls/The Original Trilogy great, stuff that in many cases I didn't even realize what it was until it was missing, makes me have to side with Dark Souls II/The Prequels as more memorable and replayable/rewatchable experiences. The exception to this is the Dark Souls II DLC and Revenge of the Sith, which felt to me to be poisoned by their creators losing interest, maybe even having come to hate their own creation.

I think that one trap GBWest keeps falling into while discussing certain issues is that they frequently bring up whether or not something is optional. This podcast, for example. When it was brought up that the Destiny character boost cost 30$, they started saying, "Well, you're not forced to buy it", "Well, they should be allowed to offer it".

Whether or not you are forced to buy it is not a particularly relevant point to discuss. I mean, look, I think most of us don't live in fascist countries where the Government or whoever else is forcing people to engage in microtransaction at gunpoint. Yes, people should be allowed to buy or not buy whatever they want. And... they are. It's a given, axiomatic. Bringing up the fact that something isn't mandatory is not a great defense for a shitty business practice, and all it does is distract from talking about the innate merits or demerits of the subject at hand.

For example- the GMP/MB stuff in MGS5 is bad. Yes, it's optional. Irrelevant. It's still bad.

This is not a big complaint of mine or anything like that, it's just something that bothers me a bit when I come across it, whether on podcasts or on forums, and I just thought I'd put my thoughts on the matter out there.
