Peter Brown always seems so genuine and relaxed and nice. I don't watch GameSpot much but I always like him on Giant Bomb.

Yeah, it's too bad FFT doesn't have a good modern version. War of the Lions is just so troubled, even if I like the idea of the game being modernized and updated to properly reference the more recent Ivalice games.

If you look at Dan's Twitter, he left a certain picture that is a code of his intended destination.

Audio is too low, can barely hear anyone.

The script for the original English version of Final Fantasy Tactics was bad. Not quite "This guy are sick." levels, but some of the writing is very amateurish and there are obvious translation errors here and there. Yes, the PSP version is a bit overwrought but I feel it mostly fits the fairly serious story and tone of the game.

It's better than Rune Knight becoming "Lune Knight" and "You slew my brother, and I will have satisfaction of you!" in any case.

Also, Jeanne D'Arc for the PSP is one of the best SRPGs ever. Sadly, no one ever mentions it. The Fire Emblem games are also great.

Also also (I swear this is the last thing I'll say about this), if you want some "gravitas" as Brad put it in a Nippon Ichi game, try Soul Nomad and the World Eaters. There's an alternate Demon route you can take in that game in which you basically kill every person in the world starting with the village the main character grew up in including his quasi-sister and sidekick through the normal route.

@paulunga: jeanne d'arc was rad but seemed a bit on the simple/easy side. also i remember it annoying ne in some way (i think the frog pet didnt sit well with me). didnt get far as i got rid of my psp. might pick it up again on the virtual electronic playstation e-store.

Re: Replaying FF Tactics, there has been a longtime modding community around the first game and the PSP remake, mostly with the intent of rebalancing the game to reduce grinding, reconsider useless skills, and make random battles actually interesting. The two best are FFT+, which is discontinued but complete, with a slight boost in difficulty from the base game but better balance to help you deal with it, and FFT1.3, which is a super-difficulty mod that also focuses on balance changes to fit its style. I'm a casual player and replayed the game with FFT+ not long ago and found it to be a great experience. Both of these mods use the original translation and fast animations, and you can speed up emulation to make combat even less of a drag.

Is it just me or are the archived video podcasts rather on the quiet side? I have this thing on full whack and I can barely hear them talk half the time.

Not at all, it also looks super uncomfortable, like the microphones should come out of the desk more so they can not have to hunch over. But they need to be right up near the mic unfortunately.

having tried nothing to attempt to fix it yet i cant seem to download episodes anymore on podcast addict. maybe has to do with new naming convention. i will try removing and readding and report back (possibly after drooling at my gtx 1080)

@allthatbacon: I known what you're saying but the date is directly below the title, so it's a little redundant.

Same here. I saw a few people comment on it for the last one, but I would think there'd be more people mentioning it considering how low it is by default. It's pretty much Vinny-levels of low audio, but I also rarely see people reference how quiet the GBEast videos often are.
