@guip1408: If I remember right Jeff was super critical of the PS4 Pro too. I think its just that he has a very expensive PC setup so newer graphics on current gen consoles isn't something he really gives a shit about which is understandable. Still, I think he underestimates how many people want a console that can do nice graphics without having to deal with gaming on a PC because it seems like the internet gaming bubble leans towards PC now.

@mems1224: Yeah, thats what I mean. He's down playing something that doesn't appeal to him, but making it sound like his conclusion applies to everyone. And I never felt that way about his reviews. Same thing goes for COD:WW2, that was alot of people wanting this setup in their COD. He just ignored the positives from both of the subjects, IMO. That's the only thing I criticize about Jeff, sometimes he seems so used to being who he is after all this years and don't represent what regular consumers might see.

COD WW2 was no where close to historic accuracy, which is unfortunate because I thought I would of been getting a COD 2, or even a world at war. I think the COD series needs to end.

@curryspiced: I usually listen/watch live out of habit, because I'm able to at work. But every now and then I listen on podcast, and there's just something about audio-only that makes you tune into what they're saying more - even jokes seem to be funnier. The first time I switched back to podcast, I was almost convinced the audio was mixed differently from the video to make their voices "pop" more or something, but it's just the lack of visual stimulus, I guess.

So they said they did an after show, but it didn't show up in the Giant Bomb Presents feed. Did they set up a feed for the after show, and if so, where is it?

Wolf 2 is a fun ride but I was disappointed by how little it actually has to say by the end of the game. All these dark aspects of America are drudged up (slavery, KKK, domestic abuse, etc.) but by the end it feels like it was only for spectacle as it devolves into standard action fare. I'd actually prefer if the entire game just focused on being a fun, pulp action story if they aren't going to actually deliver on any of it. I'd probably like it even worse if I watched/read Man in the High Castle which I hear the story borrows a lot from. On top of that, it can be incredibly heavy-handed, lacking any nuance at times. Like in the opening scene, does the dad really need to be anti-semitic, abuse the wife, abuse the kid, homophobic and racist? And then he makes you go and ... you know. It's like this really binary view of people that if you are racist you are everything also awful in the world. I'm sure there are monsters like that, that exist but it just started on the wrong foot where I thought, "Man, I'm not going to be able to take this game seriously" -- thankfully, very little of it does itself.

Also, I don't get the hate for the credits music. It made me smile and laugh, like so much of the game. It's a fun, humorous, bold stylistic choice in a game full of them, even if it's not going on my playlist anytime soon.

Hmmmm, I guess I am kind of glad that I really did not have much trouble with the Wallenstein 2's combat like the crew did. And from what I have seen anecdotally it really feels like most people playing the game on PC with m&k are having a grand ol time of it combat wise, while most people I see on the forum chatter that are having more trouble are using the controller. There are obviously other factors, but it does seem like the biggest differentiator.

That last fight they talk about, I just blew through it on the first go barely noticing the speed bump and was more just disappointing by a lack of a true boss fight. The game even guides you to the easiest way past it with the laser cannon placements that make super short work of enemies from an extreme range with pinpoint accuracy and infinite ammo. Most of them never even got the chance to shoot back.

I do feel like this type of comment like mine is somewhat straying into dick waving territory ("well I didn't have trouble"), even tho it's definitely not meant as such. But I also feel it's at least a little bit worthwhile to offer a different perspective that others have experienced with the game.

It did happen; I caught the end of it live. Not sure why it isn't posted yet. I searched for the other feed this afternoon, but haven't found it yet. Maybe they are still getting everything ready for that feed?

I know that Ben was trying to paint the difference between turbo mode and normal dota, but if it takes 30 minutes before a teamfight happens, i don't know what kind of game you're playing. Most offlaners are very much about looking for action right when they hit lv 6 (takes about 6-9 minutes) and teaming up with their supports. It seems like a lot of people don't really feel any urgency when it comes to Dota, you see a lot of people see a change like Lion's hex becoming an AOE spell at lv 25 and therefore concluding that PL is a bad hero this patch. As if most lions will even get to that point in the game.Different heroes are strong at different times, and the majority of your games are not supposed to devolve into a 80 minute farmfest.

Right now an average game of dota last about 42 minutes, and an average turbo match takes 24 minutes. Many of the lv 25 talents are rediculously strong to make the games end sooner as well so 1-2 hour matches will become even more of a rarity.

Apart from Turbo mode and the new 2 heroes, the game has actually not dramatically changed that much. Some choices got reverted (Iron Talon & extra creep in midlane removed) ,items got split up into two items (some of which are new) and the laning stage is more important, since denying creeps gives the enemy dramatically less xp, letting you create a very substantial level advantage.

Pangolier with his crazy mobility is one of the most fun heroes in dota. His ult is literally a ball that rolls through heroes and can bounce up cliffs. It's very funny and somewhat controls like Rock of Ages.

@jet1990 Gordon also likes Starcraft. Blake Martinez, Linebacker for the packers, is also into Dota 2. Funfact: Jeremy Lin is part of the organization VG.J , which has a chinese and a north american roster. The J stands for Jeremy.

@clagnaught: @mems1224: You wouldn't though, a moderately high end i5 or i7 from 2012 will still be more than enough, and RAM being older doesn't make one bit of difference. Ain't no reason you couldn't do a GPU only upgrade.

People won't just bounce back off vanilla WoW, some will, sure, but I predict a minimum of 500,000 active players for these servers. Heck, there's private servers that have had over 100k (Nostalrius had almost 1 million accounts?), and those servers required torrenting old WoW clients and accepting your character could be wiped at any moment. It's gonna be a nice revenue stream for Blizzard!

The quality of life improvements are going to be missing, arguably the one that people will miss the most is dual talent spec. Everything else is kind of whatever and I can't think of anything I will miss tbh.

Graphically the old client looks nice at modern resolutions since it supports widescreen and seems to have no resolution limits with lots of anti-aliasing options. WoW just has an art style that aged well. It's impressive as the bulk of vanilla WoW was created in 2003!

I'll be playing as soon as they go up and I'll probably buy a six month game card if that works out cheaper than the monthly sub.

Wolfenstein 2 seems to get a bit easier the deeper you get into it. Without going into spoilers, that final encounter of the game actually isn't too bad as there's an area in the level that helps you hide and avoid some of the big damage attacks. Not sure if Brad noticed that or not. Game certainly can be tough, but I'm lousy at video games and still managed to get through it on the 3rd difficulty. I can understand others not having the interest or patience to go through multiple deaths to get through sections of the game, as I've been in that spot many times before.

@marterfarker:

The real fun part is logging in on someone else's PS4. Then you give them the glitch as well. I've found that a few dozen attempts per the phone app usually works....

@blveprints: Oh good Lord, I didn't know that would happen, too.

I purchase so little from PSN, and I tend to fill my wallet each time, that I forget that I have to go through all those extra steps when I next need to add funds. I'm also forgetful (getting old sucks).
