The difference is that Mario Odyssey gives you the bullshit moons on the way to the real deal moons, where a Mario 64 makes the bullshit stars into an event of their own where you're getting kicked out to the hub and starting from the start of the level again and then making your way through the same platforming again to get to some cannon so you can shoot yourself out of it 7 or 8 times until you finally angle it just right to land on the floating island that has a star on it.

There's nothing cheap about the Valkyries, most moves are telegraphed well beforehand. Kara is the only one of those that breaks the mold and that fight kinda sucks, the rest of them are great though.

They've talked about Session before. I think Jeff (maybe Brad) mentioned it or played it on a stream. He had the same problem I had with it, the controls are messed up. Using the left stick and right stick to control feet feels awkward when you compare it to something like Skate.

Regarding Super Mario and Lost Levels brick breaking being broken in Super Mario All-Stars, it's a couple of bytes of code about the Y axis that the programmers at Nintendo didn't realise were reversed. They didn't re-code the physics at all, it's the same but a typo got in there somehow. There's a patch on Romhacking that fixes it for emulation. I'd assume Action Replay and Game Genie can fix it too for people with the cartridge. People who bought it on Virtual Console you know what you were getting yourselves into. :)

@jesus_phish: Oh word, I missed that bit then. And yeah, they're going for an even more hardcore simulation, which makes the controls suffer (I think, at least. And so do a lot of people who just want a new EA Skate).

@benpack , we used the fake booze tampons, these were kept in my sweet girlfriend's purse where they wouldn't be looked at too closely due to them looking exactly like wrapped/unused tampons. I really don't think those things are meant for actual "STEALTH" if you know what I mean and I truly hope not. these were shared amongst my homies so the prospect is truly messed up

regarding "STEALTH BOOZE TAMPONS AND THEIR ACTUAL *********" I've only ever heard of that used with a proper tampon for proper alcoholics to soak up the goods

I think of Andrew Reiner from Game Informer as an analog to Jeff. Same type of absurd encyclopedic knowledge about games... with none of the worn out, beat-ass cynicism and lack of patience. I have no idea how he is not totally jaded, after all the games he has played. The dude puts out a list each year of every game he has FINISHED. It generally dwarfs the number of games Jeff has even played. Again... I am sure I am being overly harsh, but I really do love GB. I just need to say my piece as a paying customer. Would love to hear Jeff's thoughts on games he actually dives into... as opposed to the most superficial criticism that really doesn't hold any value to me... or anyone else, if they are being truthful.

I lived my life for 60 years. I didnt get tired of it yet. Jeff's personality isnt cynical or critical as fans put it cause he just turned that way from playing too much games for years or being too old or being too smart or knowledgeable as he pulled the curtain and learned the truth of game design. He is literally just like how he is in the cast. He said several times that he doesnt show up for camera and he just doesnt find the games right now that great. He doesnt have as much time to dive into something that doesnt knock his socks off right away anymore with a wife and possibly children soon. Overall thou this has always been his personality just watch old cast and see. also watch how aggressive you get. constructive criticism is ok but this might get you bann.

The Renaissance Faire in my area goes through October, and naturally they have a costume weekend then, which is my favorite time to visit. Along with the swath of Star Trek, Doctor Who, Back to the Future, Homer Simpson, and for some reason Pokémon cosplays, there are some pretty cool costumes to be seen there. Things like Zelda and Fire Emblem too, but I'm fine with that since it's at least medieval-esque fantasy. I went dressed as Konosuba's Megumin last year, and I had a blast.
