I was really happy to hear Ben say how much he was looking forward to oddysey and hearing mike had fun despite liking origins more still has me super pumped. Origins was the goty for 2017 I still think. This looks breathtaki my and kicking bears off cliffs sounds what we need in this day and age

re jeff saying that sony was too businesslike and abrupt in the way they announced fortnite crossplay: wouldnt it be just as gauche to reveal crossplay with a fanfare after a months long controversy surrounding the issue? if they made a huge announcement like "FINALLY ITS WHAT EVERYBODY'S BEEN ASKING FOR...... CROSSPLAY ON PS4......" everyone would just be like "the other consoles had this from the start and it was 'proven' to already work when epic somehow 'accidentally' enabled crossplay in fortnite so dont act like youre doing this out of some concern for the consumer". seems like a weird bone to pick

also from a technical point of view, i dont understand how the epic account platform trouble was sony's fault at all. if the problem was business, why couldnt epic restrict the use of in-game items that were purchased on one platform to just that platform? sony doesnt have control over fortnite accounts. it doesnt make sense to me.

I hope some other longtime Yakuza fans here will agree with me when I say, Jason's complaints on the Fist of the North Star game are odd. It looks/plays/unfolds exactly like a Yakuza game... a series which is not solely wacky hijinks that I believe Jason and the rest of the Bombcast take them to be.

I really like Mike. He's great at explaining these kind of previews and getting me excited but still having a grounded opinion before having seen the full game. I wonder if he'd ever move to GB.

I usually don't care about spoilers but Odyssey is a day old and I would have preferred to have found out some of the story specifics by... playing the story.

This Mike fellow was a good get for this week. It's been so hard to parse the temperature on Red Dead especially considering that I've not seen the game at all but I think he did a good job evening out my expectations. Sounds like the game is striving to do some impressive things though I am still anticipating at least a bit of systematic jank in a game this ambitious.

I'm actually not as surprised by the eventual success of GTA Online considering how popular Battle Royale has gotten. Even going back to GTAIV's online free-mode or even further back to the weird online mods for San Andreas on PC, I've felt those games' online potential helped spur on this rogue-esque survival multiplayer trend as much as ARMA3/DayZ. Most people just don't think about them in that way I guess.

Loved hearing about Jeff getting a kitten. I imagine Cat is getting up there in years so it'd be nice for him to have a pupil to pass down his knowledge of the household. I recently got a one year old a couple months back and while I love her to pieces she can be quite the attention hog. I similarly have been cutting back on games to play with her and hopefully keep her away from my PC wiring. Thanks as always for the podcast.

I strongly support Jason doing Spider-Cop at Ben as much as possible.

Spider cop comes up like 3 times total, and everyone in the game makes fun of him for it, so I don't think its written to say "hey look at this funny dude", more like "hey look at this loser try to be funny and fail".

I get not liking a goof, and maybe I took it wrong, but Ben made it sound like the game is 20 hours of that and it sorta undersells how incredible the writing is otherwise

Mike Mahardy was an awesome guest and he’s genuinely a super nice guy - one of the few people who will routinely actually reply on Twitter and engage you in conversation.

Whenever Peter Brown and Mike Mahardy are on, I always feel like they belong somewhere other than Gamespot. Their talent and knowledge goes well beyond the new "entertainment focused" style Gamespot seems to focus on these days. That said, there are very few places that could provide a suitable platform for what they do. I guess what I'm actually saying is that they should join Giant Bomb. Let's get Danny and Mary in there too!

If you (YES YOU READING THIS, "ON THE LINE") are looking to try PSO, there are some servers now that have 5x experience and I SUPER RECOMMEND IT! Makes it so you can breeze through the early difficulties and get right to where the good rare drops are which is *kisses fingers like chef who just made a particularly spicy meatball* perfecto.

I guess the right amount of swatch internet time beats passed and the time was right! If you haven't tried it before with some buds now is a great time!
