HOLY SHIT!!! Brad read my question about Assassins Creed and yelling nonsense in games! I am not sure what to do now that I am internet famous but MY TIME IS NOW!!!

The ideal for me IS to have display names that we can change whenever. That will always be the best option to me, I love that Steam and Nintendo let you do this. You're never locked down to one thing and you don't have to fork over money to change it.

The actor who died was Scott Wilson. Andrew Lincoln is the lead who is leaving the show. Not a great look to mix them up just to accuse Kirkman of being insensitive.

On a much lighter note, Smash Bros. is a bigger franchise than Zelda easily. The sales data is all there, the critical reception is there, and yes, people buy systems for Smash Bros.

For the Ring of Elysium curffufel. Turns out the dude who said there was some PDF env. creator virus thingy. Was working on a infected PC and the game didn't infect his pc but some other garbage he had was corrupting his computer so, Ring of Elysium is save...... for now........

The river rafting in Mario Party is like Outrun, with mini-games. The Partner Party has free movement, and is a really fun way to mix up the gameplay. The rhythm games are like Wario Ware. Toad has a rec room, there's also stickers, gems & more characters to unlock. Custom character dice blocks, and allies (which can stack). A bunch of power-ups. There's also a challenge road, where you play through 80 mini-games in a row while progressing down this really long road. There's so much going on.

My only issue is the four boards, hopefully they release some more.

47’s voice actor is David Bateson. Wikipedia says he’s originally from South Africa (hence the not quite Euro accent) and has him listed as both a voice actor and comedian.

I know I'm in the minority of DOA fans but it kinda sucks people know so little about it. Tekken introduced stage transition in 6 but it is so dissimilar to what DOA does. Breast physics we're tuned last game too but I'll be glad if it gets taken out completely.

As for auto combo systems the best one ever made was Killer Instinct. It allowed you to play regular even when assist was on.

Andrew Lincoln is the actor who plays Rick Grimes, the character on the walking dead show, and is leaving the show after this season which is what Robert Kirkman was referring to. He is NOT the actor who died this year, that's Scott Wilson. It sounds super bad if you think he's conflating a man's real death to the "death" of a video game character

Holding an 11 year (and counting) grudge against a platform holder for the display name chosen for the press account of your former employer which you happened to walk out with? Classy.

An updated Switch that wouldn't alienate consumers who already bought one would be a version that isn't a handheld. Dump the screen and the battery and you either offer a cheaper system that allows people who want to play Switch games but don't give a damn about portability to do so, or you charge the same but slip in a CPU/GPU upgrade that lets games run/look better on televisions - upgrades Nintendo later rolls into the new version of the proper Switch a year later. The people who care about the handheld aspect don't feel burned, the people who didn't buy a Switch because they didn't want to pay extra money for a feature they didn't care about finally buy a Switch, and some percentage of people who already bought a Switch pick up one of the new units so that they have both a handheld and a dedicated TV unit, and Nintendo still has the option to release a new version of the handheld Switch (with additional bells and whistles that only matter for the handheld mode) in 2020. Everyone wins.

The fact that they instantly said no to butter on a pop-tart is insane. It simply makes it better, toast is decent by itself but adding butter makes it way better, pop-tarts is the same way. I cant imagine eating a pop-tart without butter really.

The Telltale/Skybound thing has been addressed in another post (though I would like to say that I do believe that they are letting their 100% justified opinions of Telltale's management colour their opinion of Skybound, which is separate), so I'll address the Smash thing primarily.

I just relistened. Jeff led by saying that Smash is not one of Nintendo's "big games", which is an opinion he has voiced before. He then changed his tack a little in response to Ben. However there are plenty of sales data pointing out that this is not the case, Smash is responsible for plenty of hardware sales. It is a juggernaut in its own right, bigger than Zelda and almost on a par with core Mario games. And hell, it doesn't look very good but Pokemon Let's Go will absolutely sell Switches to the casual market. And they have a mainline Pokemon game announced. The Switch absolutely has the big guns on the horizon. The worst Nintendo misconception by far is the one that they just have Mario and Zelda and that's it.

@cursethesemetalhands: Seems quite reasonable. They did the 2DS version of the 3DS, taking out that system's headline feature, so such a move wouldn't be wholly unprecedented either.

@fedallah: I'd certainly buy one. But I suppose a key issue would be that the system's name is intrinsically linked to what the system is all about, and Nintendo might be loathe to put out a Switch that doesn't 'switch' between console and handheld modes. If it doesn't switch, what do they call it? How do they let consumers know it's basically a Switch but it's only a console? I imagine that's a major stumbling block for marketing.

@apdls: yeah worst performance was #8 best selling game on Wii and 3DS according to Wikipedia. Otherwise it’s always top 5.

The entire Smash Franchise has sold almost half what the entire Zelda franchise has sold. That’s insane! 100 million vs 40 million in a much smaller time frame.

Also, Animal Crossing franchise has sold almost as much as Smash, and that’s yet to come out.

The juggernauts are Pokemon, Mario, and Zelda. But there’s some big guns lurking close behind.

@troticielo: it was his personal account. He happened to name it that. With as long as he’d worked there it makes sense he’d have fondness for the company. His Xbox Live name was the same thing as well.

And I’d hardly call it a grudge, he still games on it. And he said he only had a relatively low number of games on the account.

@cursethesemetalhands: if the cpu upgrade was just so that games didn’t have slow down or stuff when in TV mode and developers still targeted the original Switch, it seems to me that wouldn’t be so bad. Like, don’t take advantage of the new horsepower to do crazy stuff old Switch users won’t see. Just give folks an option to have nicer TV performance. It’s what I was hoping from the PS4 pro.

Or! Use cpu chip advancements not for more horsepower, but for drastically better battery life. A more powerful chip can accomplish the same workload faster and then switch back to low power mode. Make the switch run longer and cooler with the fancy new technologies

Horizon 4 has to be pulling from your Xbox account and not a prior save.

The only X1 Forza game I've played before this was Horizon 3, and I had set it to "Bort" in that game. It called me by my real name in Horizon 4.

Hard to listen to that minute or two where they took Robert Kirkman to task for comparing Andrew Lincoln and Clementine when Andrew was not the person that died like they assumed.

@bored_and_agitated: Better TV mode would be enough to make me happy. Though, wouldn't hurt to throw some extra horsepower in there if it's cost effective, even if they have to restrict developers from taking advantage of it until they release an equally updated standard Switch. Even then, the upgrade in power shouldn't be so substantial that early adopters get screwed by games that run like garbage on their original hardware. If it just offers a modest boost in performance and better battery life, with a few convenience features (like the option for Bluetooth headphones), I can't imagine too many people would feel burned. Plus, come 2020-ish, you have to figure a percentage of those early adopters would welcome the upgrade and the chance to hand off their original model to their kids, younger sibling, spouse or what-have-you.
