There is so much to like about this stream. People should watch all of these with video on Twitch. The ending here with them messing around and spinning the PS4 was great.
Just finished watching the archive on Twitch. Fucking Adam Boyes man! I loved hearing him talk about all the behind the scenes stuff.
I kind of can't actually believe he's a real higher-up at Sony. He's way too much of, like, a real person! And bringing the fucking console?! What?! Too crazy!

The difference in attitude between the Sony guys and the Microsoft guys perfectly reflects the difference in their policies and regard for their costumers lately. Those Microsoft guys were not much fun, trying to turn all talk to how great xbone games are, seemingly trying to not even acknowledge Sony's existence, give them any props or mention any Playstation games, completely zoneing out when indies are being discussed until a Xbox one, Braid, was mentioned then suddenly they're all like yea!!!! Seemingly getting annoyed when Jeff or Ryan poked any fun at Microsoft or criticized xbone, etc.
Meanwhile Sony guys were humble, fun, honest, laughed at themselves, totally willing to praise Xbone exclusives and didn't seem to be trying to just steer the conversation to Playstation stuff. I think this just reflects stark differences in the attitudes between these to companies. Also, Adam Boyes is the man.
Anyways, awesome show overall, as always, laughs and good insight throughout.
@darkest4: sweet jesus im glad im not the only one that noticed that man Adam Boyes dropping the bombs on this podcast im so glad i watched it live my god the difference in attitudes was like night and day Adam Boyes and Brad Muir should receive a lifetime achievement award for just bringing it everytime i love seeing good people get the recognition they deserve. I still couldnt believe he brought the ps4,controller and stand thats like some giraffe keighley level exclusives.
Just from a price and future proofing perspective (indies are far less likely to crash like the AAA is) I was going to pick up a PS4... but Adam Boyes being a higher up makes me actually feel like I can trust Sony....
And that's goddamn crazy because trusting a corporation to be human-ish is insane.
But as long as he's running anything there (and it seems he's running a fair bit!) I feel confident at least someone's going to be talking sense in a human way.
(Edit: Also, seeing the chat explode when he brought out the PS4 was the best thing ever. That and him accidentally saying something referencing Lockdown.)

@5p3ktro: I disagree, he seems as legitimate as I've seen any exec. Ironically that was achieved by drinking bears and telling stories and subverting rules. At least in the way that this wasn't a 'deal' it was a surprise

Fucking fantastic E3 streams as usual every year. Adam Boyes blowing e out of the water with the full console, usual for Sony vs. Microsoft this E3.
Honestly great showing from all this year. Sony may have stolen the show coming in with a big headwind but everyone seriously brought their A game hard. Console makers, big publishers, indies, everyone. Now is a great time to love video games.
But as long as he's running anything there (and it seems he's running a fair bit!) I feel confident at least someone's going to be talking sense in a human way.
To be honest I don't even want him "running things". I want him to have a voice and he clearly has one.. on one of the most important stages available. Anyone who has followed Giant Bomb for a few years knows who Adam is and they know where his priorities lie. Not with the suits but with us, the gaming public. Dude loves games and is not afraid to show it.
Kind of a bummer that E and Stepto get a hour and more ( i didn't think they were as shilly as the chat though), and then adam boyes shows up and he only gets 30 mins
@mrfluke: As someone who has had a bias against MS since Windows 95, I thought e and Stepto were fine. Of course they trod lightly and I'm sure it'll be a while before Stepto moves fully off that line but they were respectful and showed an appreciation for games. I'm glad I missed the chat.

not everyone was bad in the chat, there was just a group in the chat that constantly called E a shill. which you know, there will always be that kind of group.
still was a bummer though that Adam was directly cut short though. imo hearing the rise of adam boyes through sony and the new philosophy of sony was more interesting than "the power of the cloud" which that was where the E and stepto segment slanted toward near the back half.

@mrfluke: Oh I fully agree with your opinion. I would have loved to hear hours more from Adam and his travels in the industry. Like I said he is a true duder. One of the lucky few who seems to have made his love into his job and continues to love it with real passion.
Edit: Also we always hear about Kraig Kujawa but never from Kraig Kujawa. Loved every minute of it.

Its honestly kind of inspiring how far that dude climbed, (sidenote, that sharing video is up to 12 million views! and the majority of youtube comments, the rawest comments section, are on the ps4's side,)

Jeez, how Sony has changed; Letting Adam bring over an unsecured console on the week it was revealed (the box itself, that is). Can you even imagine a modern MS executive doing the same thing? Their internal corporate environment is really coming across as hostile and heartless in comparison.
This was a great wrap up to a Fantastic week. The Ps4 at the end was a fun surprise. Adam Boyes is the man. My only gripe with the streams this past week was with Vinny, in that he never showed up on the mic at all. That's okay, I know drew and him were plenty busy handling the tech work. I'm also going to really miss Patrick being in on these discussions regularly. He just seems to have an enthusiasm some of the rest of the crew has understandably lost. Oh well, I really enjoyed all the Gb crew's coverage. Thanks guys.

I really need to hold the Dualshock 4. Brad has said the triggers are better than the Xbox One's controller twice now. I know it's just one opinion, but I see a lot of people loving on the DS4. I have also heard the XBone's pad feels cheap? I assumed that was just fanboy nonsense.
Kudos to both camps bringing the controllers. Extra points to Adam for bringing the PS4 and THE FREAKING STAND! It was great hearing Brad say: "Oh my god he wasn't joking."

Giant Bomb is "the show" as far as I'm concerned. The guests are invited to speak for themselves. "Speak up or be un heard" is 100% true. This is why "Also Ryan.....not the greatest of host." is 100% false. Seth, Nathan, Kraig, and Adam spoke up for themselves and for the people they believe in. That's why they were heard.
The live Giant Bombcast is not a place for wallflowers to be heard. I would disappear in that environment. Certainly every unheard guest deserved to be there and I wish they would have come out of their shell to dump their E3 feelings on us, but I understand. It's hard. Can you even imagine the thought-train going through Cowboy's brain?
@villainy: Well someone needs to tell gaf and it's creator because as someone who pays their site no mind who's decided to look them up due to this bombcast and just see nothing but venom is a bit unsightly. Also, just watched the cast with Cliff and Jonathan....great stuff.
