GrubbSnax 23: Chrono Cross Remaster, the Year Ahead for Nintendo, and Santa in Battlefield

Since there's 0 comments I'm gonna assume I didn't miss this and it did actually just pop up suddenly? Also, the podcast version is giving me an "invalid episode url" error when I try and download it.

What is going on with this show?

It's the only thing I'm subscribed for, and its uploads are consistently busted, delayed, or both (like this one).

When it does go up, it's often 24 hours later, and the audio download is sometimes broken. By "broken" I mean I can't initiate a download across multiple browsers, computers, and internet connections.

When it's delayed, there's no notice from the GB twitter account, or the "showinfo" page, and I have to search for posts about it on the forums/reddit.

If there's something behind the scenes that's legitimately making it difficult, I will be understanding of that. But without any communication it just looks like the site staff don't really care about getting this show posted every thursday.

@secondhands: Same. Really annoying as this is really the only reason I got Premium and if I miss the start of the livestream then I have to wait anywhere between 3 hours to half a week to listen.

Not sure if it’s because I’m using safari on my tablet but every time I click a video the player decides that I already watched it, so it goes to the next video in an infinite loop. 😑

Hearing BF2042 described as "rough" and that they're aiming to get it in a "good" place is insane. Relying on social media for an accurate is going to get you terrible takes, including that the Santa skin was some sort of identity crisis or massive issue for the game. Meanwhile nobody's complaining about Robocop dabbing in a cloud of white prosperous in COD. Go back to role playing in a Day of Defeat Source server if you don't want Santa with a gun.

2042 is a fantastic game, and the narrative about it has just been bewildering to me as I've played around 200 hours, and haven't had any bugs. In fact I've enjoyed it way more than Halo Infinite multiplayer. Feels insulting to compare it to BFV which had no redeeming value.

Can't believe Jeff hasn't heard of Clash at Demonhead. It was a classic Metroidvania that really tried. It's a little primitive now, but I think a new one could be amazing. I agree with the questioner that a sequel is way overdue. Sadly Vic Tokai shifted over to being a telecom company, and hasn't made games since the late 90s, so chances are slim.
