@phourniner: Quick looks very rarely have outright end game stuff like that right off the bat. It's not a huge thing but I would've liked to know this was a finished file. Edit: apparently it's not, but I noped out real fast.

Also I didn't find anything to be a spoiler, but I didn't play DMC4. If people mean the devil breaker stuff, the devs showed that off at PAX West last year (and it's such an integral part of the game I imagine whatever causes him to start using a robot arm happens fairly early on).

C'mon Jason, I haven't played DMC1 in well over a decade and even I remember you shoot the masks off the scissor wraiths with your gun before you attack. Then again I'd be using way more gun in general than there was in this Quick Look. I'm liking some of the styyyyle of this but I'm not sure. The level design doesn't feel very inspired though to be fair other than the first game and reboot that doesn't feel like a consistently big strength of the series. Gameplay looks like what I'd expect in a DMC. Seems like the only big addition is the consumable arm weapons and it seems a bit whatevs. I'm more interested in what Vee and Lady play like but I guess I'll have to look elsewhere.

@zurv: I'm sure they'll have a playdate or whatever those are. Jason's a huge fan too and I'm happy for more west content.

@quarterlight: I think the aggressiveness acts as a counter to the "Ugh Giant Bomb, way to ruin the entire game" comments, even though no one seems to know just what was "spoiled" in this QL.

This exactly. If I was a huge enough fan of a game, I certainly would never watch a Quick Look of it before I played it myself, just for the fact I want to go in sight unseen. I'd save it for afterwards. EDIT: Taking it down a notch, spoilers are one of my biggest downfalls.

I'd love a Play Date of this with Jason as head man. He seems to be alright at the game, and I love watching games I'll never play.

The spoiler they are referring to is this is the 3rd mission in the game which appears to be right after the demo level so there are no spoilers.

@steveurkel: @protome: @humanity: Nope, there's a detail on Jason's moveset that spoils the game. Even Jason knows it, as you can see when Ben asks about the blue thing and Jason thinks that he's talking about Nero's arm. If you played DMC4 and see this, you can guess what happens with Nero in this game.

Yah the characters and effects are there but the demo was in some run down, brown city-scape.. and this level doesn't seem much different. I can appreciate a sewer level as much as the next guy (so at this point "no thank you") but I sure hope they vary it up a bit more. Everything I've seen so far has been very samey in terms of environment.

Man, I think it's a super cool touch that all the enemies that you fight are actually just from all the other DMC games. I have a feeling that feeds into the plot somehow, but it's still REALLY COOL, 'cause like you have the Sin Scissors from 1, something like the Agniofinises from 2, the Lusts from 3, there's probably something from 4, too. Really looking forward to cracking into this myself on Friday.

Nico's voice acting is either awful or an awful voice for that character. She talks like a heavy set redneck villain in a sequel to Resident Evil 7.

Was Park Overall not available?

There's a real serious disconnect between her look and her voice. It doesn't sound like it's coming from her when she talks.

Edit: A decent ways into the video now. I have to say that the style and attitude doesn't come together as well as DmC's did. Say what you will about that game, but it chose a style and went all in. The music here, the combo voiceover, and the sound design just doesn't quite come together as satisfyingly as DmC, or even as much as the past games in this incarnation of the series. Also launching without Bloody Palace? Isn't that one of the huge things that people ripped on DmC for?

Cmon Jason, that's a pretty clear spoiler for ppl familiar with DMC4... If you wanna make a video like this at least be considerate of that stuff...

Man Nico is really annoying. I hope she isn't in much of the game.

Haven't seen a typo in a triple-A game in a long time. At 16:19, the scissors should be "shears of annihilation", not "sheers." Just puttin' that out there.

Was really hoping this would go full Metal Gear Rising with the music in the boss fights, but oh well. Still looks fun.

I did play DMC4 and I don't have even the slightest idea what in this video is a spoiler.
