My lord...Abby is trying her best to get some info out of Rorie, but he has a special kind of stream-of-consciousness way of speaking that is impervious to logical pacing and progression. I love it, sounds like my internal, unfiltered monologue!

Rorie how do you use the monitor, though? Do you whip your head back and forth constantly?

edit: oh come on, people. Go look at Digital Foundry if you want a technical breakdown. You come here for the personalities, and Rorie gave out plenty of info while Abby kept things comical.

@thomascro: exactly. I miss the giant bomb crew doing quicklooks. They're much more informative and ..coherent.

If you have any information you'd like to know or questions about the game feel free to ask them here and I'll do my best to answer them!

Good guy rorie XD. Good quicklook. Thanks soo much for the low settings take. I know your a game enthusiast site and expected to have the high tier to high mid range pc for gaming but for us lower pc elite, seeing the game on low settings helps. Theres not much to show in this game that you wouldnt know already from older quicklooks so just settings and how it runs was fine.

I think the idea of Rorie - as a guy who loves this game and his ultra-wide monitor - and Abby as someone, who would ask the PC questions in a "explain it to me as if I were 6 years old" (that is a Philiadelphia reference, yes) is good casting for this QL in theory, but...

Rorie, common. We had a Quick Look for this game. Abby was trying to focus it with her questions on what's new (what's better on PC, any issues?) and you kept breaking her off (and yourself too actually).

Also, that you couldn't run it in fullscreen, just borderless windowed, it only doing little over 40fps on your awesome graphics card when you're running it at ~5MP resolution (~2.5 the resolution of 1080p) and your graphics card having almost 7 times the power of a base PS4... [and resolution usually scales non-linear these days, meaning double resolution needs a lot less than double the power]... none of that seemed iffy? Then I could see stuttering in your stream, the white geometry glitch about which you asked Abby, if she could see it too (yes, we could see it, even if she missed it in the moment) and then frame losses in the 30frames region for multiple seconds in a row at one point, without too much going on in the game...

How are you not diving a little deeper in the tech issue as Abby wanted to and then even say that the port is essentially alright?

@tylerdurden4321: No thanks. I think this quick look was good. Reading comments I assumed he never answered a question. He does get to her questions and most dont really think about all the tech stuff like abby was showcasing. She was purposely joking around too. We know how the game looks on ps4. It will look like that and run like that just better. Most who wanted this game got it already. The few who couldnt get Breath of the wild or this will just get the pc version and be fine. Its a super old game now and runs fine. I dont need the usual tempered take the rest of crew does all the time. Nice to hear praise and excitement for a game someone enjoyed, especially one that that years goty seemed everyone liked but just bounced off of and moved on. Makes it seem like the game is and was still great. You can go to digital foundery for the fps counting. The only issue i see was the darkness but i see how that was not his fault. Overall great quicklook.

Just because it’s a Horizon related video, I’ve got to say my peace that everyone who’s played the game will understand, but fuck that guy. You know the one I’m talking about.

I honestly found the aspect ratio on this beautiful! It added a really incredible cinematic flare to the gameplay. Beautiful!

@avioto: She asked about frame rate and load times. He seems to address the rest on his own. Seemed fine to me :)

Such a disappointment for what was pre-release a big old celebratory feeling among the PC crowd. This thing is plagued by technical issues from basic ability to run, then, run properly, and then, have animation-refresh rates scale properly to any setting over a locked 30 fps, resulting in stuff like Aloy's hair going from realistically floaty to rubberized, which applies to other physics-driven animation assets like cloth, grass, water rippling effects, cutscene sync with audio all the way to controls with mouse acceleration, and the snow deformation is entirely absent.

They have a good...IDK two or three patches to go before I can really stomach playing the game without feeling like all of these things plus...a lot more stuff that distracts/detracts from the experience enough to feel like I'm playing the game in a way that doesn't do the material a disservice. It's annoying, but it happens I guess.

Good Video! Btw, I am officially retiring this account. After over 10 years, I have a new account now. Yup. A new account for a new me. This will be my last comment under this account. Every new beginning is just another new beginning’s end. FIN.

This was a great quick look. Rorie's expertise with and enthusiasm for the game combined with Abby's perspective as a lapsed 'Horizon' player, while also asking interesting questions, makes for a good time while having my dinner. And really, that's what you want, isn't it? Good stuff.
