Lol I remember this. I’ve never backed anything on Kickstarter but this is the one game that very nearly made me do it.

Yes, it's nostalgic, but oh god, I really don't want to remember the Internet's early days. Those were dark times (as opposed to now, where everything's sunflowers and rainbows, I know).

Thanks for this, looks really cool but watching someone else play it is... painful.

From what little I can remember of the internet of 1999, everything about this game's aesthetic is distressingly accurate.

Regarding the comments speculating whether Zack's girlfriend is just himself posing or not: I don't know if Ben missed it, or just forgot, but from the very start of the game, there is a button in the web browser that lets you view the personal info of the person who's page you're on.

This looks absolutely fucking incredible. Anyone have an idea of how long it is? My backlog is stacked but if this isnt super long it's going to cut to the front of the queue.

Of all the 90's nostalgia games, this one /really/ nails it.

@hayt: Depends on how much time you spend just reading all the weird stuff on their fake Internet, and how long it takes you figure out some of the puzzles. I finished it last night after about 5-6 hours, but there's quite a bit I didn't see.

That sounded like Hot Dad. Did Hot Dad do music for this game? Would make sense given his whole '80s/'90s gimmick (which is great!)

This is incredible, it needs to be remembered for GOTY season for Best Styyyyyyyyyyyyyyyle.

I'd be very interested in playing this, but I almost never buy games for PC...because I own a 2008 iMac and 2011 Macbook. This looks like a game that would easily run on just about anything but the specs they list on their page say it needs a minimum 2GB of memory and recommends 4. Civ IV is a game that runs fine until the late game on both and only requires 512MB of memory...that game seems much more complex than this does.

Am I missing something? The Macbook is 512MB so also well below the minimum specs. Again, I'd like to buy and play this game I think, but am I right to assume this game simply would not run on either of my machines? That seems preposterous but I suppose weirder things have happened. At the risk of exposing just how little I understand about computer hardware, I need to know the answer to this question regardless of whether I'm interested in playing it.

@nodima: I would err on the side of trusting the specs listing, because it could either be much less optimized than Civ IV, or have more going on that it would first appear to.

Having said that, you could always test it out and get a refund within the Steam return window if it doesn't work sufficiently for you.
