Am I tired of hearing Hugo talk about their game? Absolutely Not. Especially not if resident Doom Editor Bradley is involved.

I love how, for the video of footage Brad brought back, there were a few people who commented saying that the game seemed too video-gamey; meanwhile that's exactly what Hugo says here that they want to embrace.

As soon as he mentioned "there was video of a certain press outlet playing DOOM (2016) poorly" I immediately was reminded of the Polygon kerfuffle surrounding their footage and oh man that was a tiresome time on the internet.

No clue if that's who Hugo Martin was talking about but his comments on learning from that gameplay and using it to make DOOM Eternal better were rad.

@haughtygarbage: It is, he talked about that more in an interview with NoClip. He goes in deeper saying that while people were unfairly blasting Polygon, he felt they failed in teaching that person how DOOM was supposed to be played.

@haughtygarbage: in all fairness, Polygon earned all the mocking they received fair and square. Do some editorial QA before just putting up video.

Hugo was starting to explain why it wasn't called "Doom 2: Hell on Earth" but Brad talked over him :(

I'm convinced of getting this game, after hearing this. I was skeptical towards the "gamification" in excess but now I understand better where the devs are coming from and it sounds really good!

I'm surprised the marketing for Eternal has had such little visual variety up until now considering they've put so much effort towards it in-game.

That's actually what I'm most excited about. I like me some hellish visuals, but some teal ice and green jungles do wonders to stop everything from turning into a yellowish-red blur.
