In a bizarre coincidence, I was wearing the same (new) Mannequin Pussy shirt @rorie is wearing here whilst watching this. Nice shirt Rorie :)
Also THPS3 was so incredible. Some kids set up a stall for the school Christmas fair which was just a ps2 and this game, and charged £1 per play. They made so much money that day. I must have spent at least a tenner myself.
They should look at the N64 version for laughs. It's all I had access to, since I didn't have a newer console at the time. Getting to finally play the PS2 version at a friend's house was a mind-blowing experience. Not to mention the N64 version has the definitive rendition of Ace of Spades, as mentioned on the Bombcast before.
I had never heard someone pronouncing clique as "cleek" until literally yesterday, when I heard it in some video. And then Rorie says it here. Bizarre.
Dang with THPS2 being my favorite in the franchise I was really curious to see some 2X because I only got to play that version one time when it came out. 2 on Dreamcast is one the best games ever.
motorhead was/is a centerpiece band for my life, and I saw their last performance (I am told) live. RIP lemmy, RIP tony hawk pro skater too. Ooof. Old.
I don't think i could count the hours I played Tony Hawk 3. I remember thinking I was getting fatigued with playing it so much THEN my friends unlocked Darth Maul and then we spent even more hours just unlocking the other extra characters (like wolverine).
@cloudymusic: Ive had a time where i was collecting oroginal xbox games not too long ago and wondered why i never heard of this game....I only have a pal system..... seems like its a north american exclusive release...how strange, sounds like an awesome game.
Edit:
about the xbox recognizing games as dvd thing, Ive had 3 original xboxes which did that when there were even the lightest of scratches on the disc..turns out that means the discdrive is going to shit, theres like 5 or 6 different discdrives that were installed into xboxes and only one of them was made to still work well after an extended period of time and thats the samsung discdrive...i have one of those BUT it turns out it has difficulty with some other defects on the disc. namely when the sides of the discs are slightly damaged. Ive only bought second hand xbox games and ive found out that with some of them the edge of the disc doesnt feel smooth when you run your finger across it, those give me diffulty in the samsung drive xD but not in the discdrive that doesnt play lightly scratched games. I figure most of the original xboxes that are still concidered as working well nowadays are the ones with the samsung drives but those will have difficulties with the unsmooth edges...
Edit2:
I still resent steam a bit, cant play my physical halflife 2 copy because i lost access to the old email adress i used for steam back in the day.
I got knocked out of the (Alabama) state spelling bee because the person giving me the word had a thick southern accent and I straight up spelled the wrong word.
@brad bananas ARE radioactive but eating them doesn't increase your absorbed radiation dose because the human body regulates the amount of potassium in it pretty strictly, and the potassium in the bananas is just as radioactive as any other naturally occurring potassium
When I hit 17 I got my passport and went to Amsterdam for three days with a friend, we saw Alien Ant Farm at The Melkweg at the height of their popularity. It was a fucking wild gig and I had an awesome time.

I mean, if you *don't* pronounce clique as "cleek", the only other option is to pronounce it as "click", which is just confusing. :b
I think this was the first Tony Hawk in which flatland stuff was really fleshed out and broken (unless that was 4?), was hoping to see more handstand and pogos out of Jeff. Even without the special tricks, reverting and adding 10x to your multiplier through variations of manual makes all of the Contest levels pretty trivial
THPS 2 is essential to me. A huge part of my childhood.
I think this is the first time even seeing 3 played. I’m kind of blown away that it was considered a 10. Didn’t realize it was thought to be better than 2.
I really don't care that much about skateboarding and thought Dogtown and Z-Boys was kind of whatever, but Bones Brigade is one of the best docs I've seen. I highly, highly recommend it.
Minding the Gap from last year is also a must-watch. Not as much about skateboarding but gives a real glimpse of skate/youth culture in the midwest that often goes unnoticed in media these days. Deals with addiction and domestic abuse in a very confrontational way. One of those movies that's a hard but unforgettable watch.
