i think at this point a conversation about most influential games probably needs to include whatever freemium mobile game popularised in-app purchases, maybe Candy Crush?

While I was watching them run through the nether on the live stream, I was thinking, hey, the path they're taking is going to take them right past my house, isn't it? And just a moment after that (due to the stream delay) I was shocked to find that my little entry hall from the nether was suddenly full of Giant Bombers.

That mechanism in the yard is a device to turn a nether portal on and off that I was playing around with; it did not work because I'd removed the flint and tinder from the dispenser.

Their horror over the villager box was really amusing. Villagers are useful enough that kidnapping some and shipping them somewhere more convenient is very useful; the colonialist horror of this mechanic is indeed rather unfortunate, but I gots to get my Mending enchantments.

I was also amused by their horror over my factory farming practices. That cow farm design basically works by cramming as many cows into a single block as the game will permit. Breeding more cows out of that hypercompact cowball will then auto-kill cows in order to make room for the new calves. The meat and leather is then collected by a hopper.

If the result is a horrifying packed monument to bovine suffering, well, Minecraft doesn't get enough credit for its realism, I think. Commentary!

I think Jan was the only one respectful to the server, that place is amazing and gave me so many ideas, his stream showcased the world. The other streams just broke stuff then went “ Sowwwrrryyy “

The roof of hell is just the hyperbolic time chamber, wtf.

I know it might not be pleasing aesthetically, but you can place carpet on top of fences to be able to jump onto and walk on them (and over). Good for animal pens.
