i think vinny's gotten the quality of the DLCs the wrong way round, this one is the (relatively) good one, Pinnacle Station is just like a combat simulator type thing and is generally a complete waste of time.

Hey Alex for what it's worth that Feros bug with the exclamation point has been around since the game first came out. It means nothing and you don't have to worry about it.

I love this series, but I wish they would bring on a guest every once in a while to break up the two dudes play a full game format.

Lift/Throw Comboooooooo! Hell yes. Best thing in the entire game.

Just a tip (heh...) for building a balanced squad:

• Tech + long-ranged weapons = Garrus
• Tech + short-ranged weapons = Tali
• Biotics = Liara
• Biotics + mixed weapons = Wrex
• Biotics + short-ranged weapons = Kaidan
• All weapons = Ashley

You want to try and strike a good balance between tech, biotics and weapon ranges (the coloured bars on the squad select screen are a decent indicator). Having a highly skilled tech person around is particularly useful for opening crates that require high electronics proficeincy.

I was confused for a sec about the thumbnail because I thought the Batarians were a bad Mass Effect 2 invention, but I guess they were in a DLC.

Oh yes next episode of Mass Alex, been waiting for this, because I don't wanna miss a thing.

Really loving this series, only downside is its making me want to jump back in to the ME series from the beginning, which wouldn't be a problem if I weren't in the middle of a massive home reno.

Don't think Alex can criticise Garrus's : "F the hostages, get the bad guy" methods anymore. I love how the reputation system can make your Sheppard seem absolutely bi-polar. You let one slaver go just because, but not the second one with the hostages.

Batarians are also part of one of the origin stories. I think.

The quickest and easiest way to get rid of excess equipment is to sell it to a merchant. Much faster than turning it into omni-gel.

I respectfully disagree. What I love about this series is they were smart enough to have it be just Alex and Vinny. Adding Dan or Abby to the mix would undoubtedly mean more side conversations that don't have to do with what's going on, which is good for a series like blue bombin, but would be detrimental to a story based game like this one. A one time guest would be even worse, as they wouldn't have context for what has happened.

@joshth: Agreed. The intimacy of the Vinny & Alex dynamic is wonderful. Vinny is the giddy fanboy showing his friend this thing he loves and Alex has the space to go at his own pace and discover the games how he wants, to Vinny's encouragement. There's something peaceful to the vibe I get from this show and I love it.

Has Alex gone through any of the codex yet? There's some stuff that can add a good deal to the core story. Plus the game's good at not showing you main story stuff until its necessary so no spoilers.

Alex and Vinny don't forget about ammo mods. They can add so much damage especially shredder and tungsten rounds!

@axl159: I wish they'd check their mods and ammo. I think they are still on version 2 or 3 of each mod.

TBH the menu is kinda bad at showing that.

@zoofame: this is impressive but I'm pretty sure they don't read it. If they did, I think they'd take into account all of us imploring Alex to use more biotics and equip appropriate weapons to squadmates. Like, I think he gave Kaiden the best assault rifle of all of them.

@zoofame: If I had only known this when I played the game...

Alex, please use powers more! Especially overload and sabotage. You've seen how devastating they are when used on you.

And you really need to update equipment mods and ammo types.

Balak is such a great character, I wish they had done way more with him and the Batarians in general.

I really appreciated his ME3 moment at least.

@vinny@alex I don't think anyone would mind if you quickly perused the codex during the stream to get answers to some basic lore questions, like 'who are the batarians'. The codex entries are part of the lore and the story, and seeing you guys react to that is what I think most of us are here for.

Also, this game can glitch out when it comes to quest indicators, so some exclamation marks will just remain on the map even if you've completed the objective. When you feel like you're done and there's no related objective in your journal anymore, you can safely ignore any remaining exclamation points. The guy on Feros you retrieved data for is a great example. He didn't have anything to offer, that exclamation point was just the game being silly.

I think Pluto was reclassified as a planet again. It's just considered a dwarf planet or something like that.

Alex, you should really be leveling up as soon as the prompt appears. There's no point in waiting and it could be a good boost in combat situations.
