For the dudes with shields, there's a slot at their eye level that you can shoot through, @alex. Not as fun as shooting them in the kneecaps, but in later levels, it will help to get them down quickly--they can become overwhelming in later levels.

Mass Effect 3 is a really good game. The ending just soured a lot of people, but the core game is still great.

Where is part 3 and 4?

I'm 33 minutes in and Alex isn't noticing the flashing red grenade signs as they land at his feet at all and then he's shocked to see that he's instantly gone from OK to nearly dead as they're exploding in his face.

I don't know why they're not showing up in the Mass Alex feed but I found them manually by looking at the premium videos feed.

Keep a closer eye out for the little red circles when walking around. You missed an opportunity to talk with Nyreen in the first bunker along with some items/objectives on the ground while running around.

This whole mission is so awesome with Femshep. Just these three totally badass ladies mowing through hordes of Cerberus and saying cool shit.

So is it a good or a bad thing that they didn't even realize they were playing a DLC?

I think the problem with the timeframe of ME3 is that they overdid the beginning a little. At this point in the game it has been said several times that it took the Reapers several years, maybe a decade, to harvest all live last time around. As powerful as they are, it's not like they swooped everything up withing two weeks. But the start of the game kinda creates a false sense of urgency.

I hate to play from the backseats, but gosh do they walk over a lot of things that can be picked up or activated, even with the little "there's something here" indicators when they pop up on-screen.

Also I think they've completely forgotten Aria is voiced by Carrie Anne Moss, who did a fantastic job.

Thanks for another solid episode guys. Crazy how the DLC is better than a lot of the main game of ME3. Also always good to hear Carrie Anne Moss deliver a good performance. She's even better here as Aria than she was in 2. Will be nice to see her in The Matrix 4 soon.

Definitely go to Grissom Academy after Omega though. It's a priority mission for a reason...

@robpigott: I looked it up because I got worried Grissom was time-sensitive: turns out you only need to do it before Priority: Citadel II (which means before finishing Tuchanka, I think) so doing all these back-to-back Omega missions doesn't run down any sort of timer on Grissom

Why don’t I remember this at all? Was this DLC?

@2headedninja: While it's true they sense of urgency at the beginning is pretty problematic for the rest of the game, I don't think the amount of time it takes to harvest everything really throws a wrench in what they're going for.

If I remember right, the time to harvest all life took so long because the protheons were set up to fight a long and protracted game of survival. They lost their home planets and a lot of people because they chose to allow it for others to escape, and it enabled them the ability to hideout, split up, and run from planet to planet while trying to cobble together a way to win or survive. That was my understanding and memory of it at least. The difference with events in ME3 is that for our civilizations it's unacceptable to lose Earth and the other homeworlds. ME3 is about minimizing the loss which is why stopping them from harvesting the home planets (namely Earth) is given "urgency" in the story. Getting to the point of -now we're hiding and it's going to take them forever to harvest us all- is what the urgency is driving us to avoid.

@alex Don't forget that you can curve your powers around cover! You'll notice that enemies stay "targeted" for a bit even when you move your cursor off of them, but your powers will still seek back toward them when fired. So if someone is behind a low wall, just aim a lift or throw slightly above them and watch as it clears the cover and connects even if they are still fully behind cover.

I had forgotten how awesome the Omega DLC was, definitely one of the best ME3 missions!

Can you shoot out the cockpit of those big mechs and climb in once you kill the pilot or am I remembering that wrong?

Have they commented on the fact or even know that Carrie Anne Moss voices Aria in this? Fantastic voice work and cast throughout this entire trilogy, and a big reason Andromeda was such a bummer.

This might be my favorite mission from ME3. So good (bummer about the bury your gays trope though).

@alex The Cerberus dudes with the big riot shields, I'm fairly sure you can shoot through that visibility slot around their eye level. Also Pull/Singularity can get rid of the shield entirely.

Charlie's Angels: Omega

At some point you guys should spend some time in the firing range checking out the different guns because at least half of the guns control actually completely differently and the stats chart doesn't tell you what that gun actually does.

Do you know that you actually have grenade launchers, harpoon guns, and laser rifles in your equipment screen right now? (You have to actually try them out to see that they do that, because nothing on the stats screen tells you that stuff)

Yo Alex has GOT to get Aria’s biotic explosion move as his Optional Power, also he should help out that school

I've played this game a few times but somehow never did this expanded omega thing. That's wild this mission is HUGE how did I MISS this?

That was an awesome mission! Beat the game at launch and now watching this had me wish I had gotten the DLC. Oh well, it’ll be nice to see it through Alex’s playthrough.

I never played the later ME3 DLC, so this is my first time seeing this mission. Surprised how more in depth this mission is.

Alex really has a knack for looking in the exact wrong direction for pickups/interact points.
