Tips:

• If you're just walking around exploring, wear the solid eye to quickly spot items that are laying around.
• Carrying more items in your slots, means that your psyche and stress will be affected
• Solid Eye costs battery. It recharges as you have it unequipped.
• The circle around Snake shows where enemies / animals are around Snake, even through walls.
• Crouchwalking and wearing the right camouflage helps a lot with staying in stealth. Keep an eye on the camouflage percentage in the top right of the screen. You can crawl on the floor between two fighting factions and you'll stay hidden 95% of the time.
• Watch the Act 1 briefing
• Use the codec

@danryckert@unastrike@drewbert I realize this was done in one recording session, but that mission briefing for Act 1 is a very important 15 minute cutscene. Drew and the audience need to see it. It should have been in the first episode.

Every act has a mission briefing cutscene that plays before the act, the only reason you have to go to the main menu to watch the Act 1 mission briefing is because Kojima apparently thought it would have been too long before the player got to actually play the game.

Again, it's very important. Please watch it for the next play session. I'm gonna keep bugging you guys about it until you do. Tough love.

I just wanna make sure I'm not the only one that was confused the first time I heard it: what the fuck does CQC compatible mean? Now that I'm actually thinking about it, it's probably the same kind of "press the Select Button" kind of stuff characters say all the time, but since it's not referencing a button it sounds insane.

If you turn the volume all the way up at the end you can hear Jason directing Drew. The jig is up guys!

Are these not showing up under the same feed for anyone else? Using the Chrome extension "GiantBomb Season Pass" and Ep1 and Ep2 are in two separate feeds.

@ch3burashka: CQC is close quarters combat. In the metal gear world it's almost like a fighting style, just like Karate or Taekwando.

If you remember MGS3 , Big Boss keeps putting the knife underneath the gun, to be able to quickly grab guys in melee distance. So when Snake is asking if the gun is CQC compatible, he's asking if the gun facilitates a spot to lock his knife into i assume.

-If the rebels see that you are helping them kill PMCs then they will like you and will not become hostile towards you. This is helpful because you usually start on their side of the battle from the beginning of each act.

-If a rebel comes up to, give him a ration to make him your ally. A heart will appear above his head showing he appreciates the gift.

- the camo index is either red, blue, or normal. Red means it's really low, blue means the action going on around you "masks" you from enemies a bit.

- This is the only version of MGS4. There wasn't an "original" version

- The mission briefing is important but you need to access it from the menu

- The radar is now a sound radar that shows nearby enemies making noise. The circles represent noise

- The circle around Snake shows where enemies are in relation to him. The bigger the "loop" the noisier/closer the enemy is

- certain enemies can hear the low pitch whine of the night vision goggles(this is important to know for later)

- You CAN shake the controller to make your camo normal again. This also works in cutscenes.

- Crouching is a new feature in MGS4 and softens your footsteps

- The more items you have equipped, the slower Snake becomes

- Listening to the iPod lets you regain stamina and health

- You can save camo patterns that you like or want to use for later

So I've always played aligning with rebels..how much does the gameplay differ when aligning with PMCs (across all the acts)?

He literally gets the saving grace of the Rebel Outfit so that he doesn't need to keep killing militia fighters.

TAKES IT OFF AND START KILLING EVERY MILITIA FIGHTER HE SEES.

I've replayed MGS4 at least 3 times and I don't think I ever noticed snake using a PS3 controller to operate MKII haha

I really hope he or the others read what everyone is saying....stop killing the rebels....ffs.

Actually interesting to see how game plays out when you kill the rebels compulsively. Always played friendly with the rebels in my playthroughs.
