The Liu Kang vs Raiden fight is a lock for a Moment of the Year nom despite the whole time travel cliche it still hit me so hard.

Also Dan May appreciate this the “Soulnado” is a reference to “Tornado of Souls” by Megadeth, Megadeth also inspired the Killer Instinct guitar rif in their song “Angry Again”

Sucks that Brad is not on this considering he just played through MK9 and MKX.

I’m glad Jeff called out that bullshit of someone asking why can they get shot a million times in a fight but they only take one shot in the cutscene. It’s just one of those things you accept get over it.

Kinda wishing you guys had brought in a third party MK lore guy or something, cause this is a lot of mass guessing and someone else going "yeah that's probably right". It feels like everyone knows just enough to not know anything, if that makes sense. I'm not complaining about having to listen to it so much as just wishing there was someone that could clarify all of this for you.

And I totally get it. The lore in these games is confusing and not particularly well-written. They haven't really had a clue what they were doing since Tobias left. And I say that as one of those people that takes it all too seriously.

But yeah, I hated the MK11 story and how it all concluded, essentially making everything that happened not matter and giving me no reason to care about any new stories they try to tell going forward. They need to hire new writers or... something. This will be the second time they'll have rebooted their whole universe because they wrote themselves into a corner. A lot of cool characters and plotlines have gotten lost along the way.

I've just heard Alex ask if Outworld and the NetherRealm are the same, I can tell listening to this podcast is a mistake.

@vinny - Quan Chi decided to remake Sub-Zero's soul into a human body and do away with Cyber Sub-Zero during the revenant process.

Different timeline, doesn't matter. The MK9 X 11 timeline states in MKX that he's a decendant of a Mediterranean warrior cult.

Probably one of the most abrupt endings to a GB podcast I've ever heard lol

What happened with Subzero is he became a robot, died, and was brought back as a wraith, and then was restored to human. In MK9 a ton of characters get killed and turned into wraiths at the end, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Sindel, Kitanna, Jade, Subzero, Kabal, Nightwolf, Striker, Smoke, and Jax i think all get killed and turned. And in X Subzero, Scorpion and Jax are restored from being wraiths.

Speak of starting Metal Gear with MGS4，the spoilercast of MGS4 on the very website you work for has that, Dan Ryckert. The late Ryan Davis did some research before dived in and he enjoyed it a lot. So would you kindly listen to a podcast once in a while.

Bummed Brad didn't continue his playdate playthrough, would have enjoyed watching him play MK 9, 10, and 11 so I had any idea what the guys were talking about.
