What a weird game...

Why the flying hell isn't this just the incredible machine, have your levels be different phases of testing a thing with a little buster character (representing you) that you have to also keep alive, so if you're testing some explosive myth you have to build a mechanism to trigger it that keeps your you out of the blast.

I mean.... it doesn't look great but I'm a slut for games like House Flipper and this is kinda scratching a similar itch... I understand why Jan is horrified by it, but it's sorta workin for me

Edit: Also - you can get an entire season of Mythbusters for about $15 bucks on Prime. I guarantee you will get more enjoyment for less money doing that instead.

This is definitely not what I expected a Mythbusters game to look like. I assumed it would be something like Besiege where you get to mess around with physics.

If the museum you're referring to is the Explosive Exhibition, I think the tour ended and all the items were auctioned off. I remember Adam talking about it in a series of Tested videos about a year ago.

Man, what a bummer of a game. I could see some of the assembly stuff being interesting in a sort of House Flipper way, but everything around it just seems so...soulless. And the blueprinting minigames looked godawful. The one positive part of this is that it makes me want to go watch MythBusters again.

Also, Jan, if you're reading this, I would love to hear more about your time on the show. MB was one of my favorite shows when it was airing, and I loved the behind-the-scenes episodes they did from time to time.

The boards are OSB (oriented strand board), they're really versatile boards, they even make joists out of them.

Not a Demo Derby? Maybe a Demo Sprint? A Demo lap?

it’s borrowing game mechanics from Car Mechanic Simulator and YouTuber’s Life, lol.

I wanted to be really meanspirited and attack this game, but then i noticed that it was just their first experiment so i'll let it go.

Let's hope once they're out of the experimental phase they will move on to making an actual fun mythbusters game :)

I also feel like there are way better royalty free songs than the one song they landed on.

Having a former mythbuster run this makes this video transcend the game - amazing

Given how soulless and wrong so much of this is, it's actually kind of amazing how much of the warehouse set is apparently fairly accurate. Obviously there are differences but the fact that Jan was still able to give a tour and be like "this is where I would xyz" is kind a impressive - and all the more bizarre. The in-game environment was clearly built on actual real life reference material to get this level of facsimile (I highly doubt there's any cobbled-together fan diagrams of the set that would be good enough) and they've clearly got the copyright.... just no likeness rights. WEIRD!

I get that Jan was able to pick apart the environments and dimensions/accuracy in the game but it came with a level of pedantry and nitpicky (from him and Jess tbf) I don't think I expected...?

I love how fussy Jess was about the wood as if that was all very obvious.

How did they fuck this up so badly? What a joke. This makes the Bear Grylls Man vs Wild video game look like a masterpiece.

It was really entertaining listening to Jan's stories from the show. Would absolutely like to hear more on a future podcast sometime.

As bad as this game is I thought the video was a ton of fun. I've really missed the occasional Quick Look/Unfinished of BAD games where you all have fun or shoot the shit about whatever topic somebody has on their mind that day.

Well the blueprint games suck but at least they had an H button
