Everytime I watch a youtube video I get a Nancy drew ad and there are I swear at least 20 different ones. I've never even googled Nancy drew... it's kind of obnoxious because they are like late 90s public tv quality.

How does me watching nancy drew videos on giant bomb cross over to youtube? Isnt the player here non affiliated with youtube. There is no explanation other than I watch nancy drew videos on giant bomb com and would love to know why youtube and Google ads are now almost all Nancy drew. Oh cool game oh it's a nancy dew fame from 20 years ago thanks screaming twitch personality (not here, youtube ads). Nancy drew more like nancy screwed my alrogothirhtm.

@steveurkel: The internet knew about something I bought earlier that day in-store at Walmart.

@kyniro: Some states allow you to opt out but in most cases large retailers (definitely Walmart) sell your purchase info to advertising companies. Without an account with Walmart (like in store) those companies still have a good idea what credit cards are associated with what email addresses and accounts because they build profiles like that for this purpose. Assuming that's what happened. Unless you paid with cash in which case... fuck...

I've never played these games, so I would defer to you, Abby, if you don't think it's necessary...

but could you please spend some more time in the conversations? I think it's fun for the characters to talk about what happened and respond to it. It takes a little time but it makes the situation more realistic and fun. Plus sometimes it seems a bit necessary and not exploring those dialogue trees trips you up sometimes.

I like this series a lot! You and Alex have thrown around Carmen Sandiego and NCIS games but if you get the time, Ace Attorney would be fun to do too. Looking forward to next week!

I wouldn't be surprised if that has something to do with the Google analytics/APIs that are on pretty much every website anymore. The reality about the internet anymore is that everyone is watching you, always, so they can advertise to you. The advertising industry ruined the internet.

I think they all did it. Working together to get rid of that meddlesome girl detective while also benefiting on the side in various ways.

There is at least once in every game so far where not exploring the dialogue trees results in having to resort to a guide. I'd echo this sentiment as well.

Yea.. Here it ended up wasting 15 minutes of time after the character clearly said "I should tell Nancy about this" and then we did everything to avoid telling Nancy about it. Now, to be sure, there's some bad and inconsistent game design here, but a couple extra seconds in dialogue could help (or simply not talking over them quite as much). I definitely understand keeping the feature moving and stuff, but it seems to backfire a bit too often in the grand scheme of things lol.
