That thing that Robin talked about with stamp-backed currency already exists in the US in the form of controlled inflation. The 1% has most of their wealth in investments to fight inflation, which moves around the system. In extreme cases, CEOs have most of their wealth in stock in just a single company, the one that they work for. It's not exactly the same thing as hoarding wealth, because it's all about that one company's prosperity.
