Man these intros are goddamn amazing.
Top tier intro
This Is The 13 Deadly Runs
Well judging by that length there's either an error in the upload or Ben's off to a truly spectacular start.
... I see, the latter.
Edit: While I'm not familiar with Rogue outside of these two episodes, there is absolutely no advantage to equipping a lower armor class Armor on floors well before the As even show up, and even when they do it seems like it would be more about trade-off and opportunity cost.

The music is on point! This is an amazing series you have put together.
Hobney is a very Kerbal sounding name.
Why is Ben's good run from episode 1 not on the leaderboard at the end?

You might need to allow Ben to do an extra run in an episode if he dies than 20-30 minutes in, because these games can be cruel and arbitrary at times - especially to a novice.
That said he was being lazy and sloppy here moving around while letting monsters get a bunch of free hits, so he kinda deserved it. Remember you can move and attack diagonally using the numpad.
May as well just do the next 12 runs in one episode. Should at least be a hot hour of #content
To those familiar with the game, what's the skill/luck ratio on this?
This is daily content?? We are spoiled.

Ben learning the lesson early doors to not get cocky at the early levels, probably for the best?
def good intro shame the run was so quick though...
Glad I cleared my calendar this morning for this one
I was so excited to see this again! I did not look at the video time.... lol
That was kinda hilarious, and exactly what I needed right now.
Loving the intros. Keep trying Ben.
"We're going to try to keep these to about an hour..."
Made it farther than Rodney so you did great!

Hobney Summofaboy, we hardly knew ye.
Really think Ben needs to slow down (and not equip worse armor for no reason) or all the runs are going to end up like this. Enjoying these vids a lot tho, it's fun to see Ben and Vinny grapple with all the archaic bullshit Rogue can throw at you.
“We’re gonna try to keep these episodes down to an hour”
Oh. Oh no.
I never played Rogue, but I did download Nethack as a kid and beat that a few times. That game is a lot of fun, though I think the version I was playing was more expansive than the original. But that's only because people have kept working on it, which is amazing in its own way.One of the things I had a hard time adjusting to was using the numpad, especially the diagonals, for movement. It's worth mastering, though; you can essentially move twice as fast in many rooms, which in turn means you're much less likely to starve.
I've got ten dollars on the first llama

For some reason Vinny thinks a successful run takes like 40 hours or something. Beating Rogue if everything goes right would take maybe an hour tops. It's 26 levels down and up. Weirdly, it does get easier as you ascend back up to the top of the dungeon so the way back can be a breeze.
I must have played over 1000 runs of Rogue as a kid. Never got much past Level 16 or so. Usually killed by (D)ragons or (T)rolls. I was playing some slightly different version though where (S) was Snake rather than Slime.
I did eventually beat it while at Uni using fun save scumming cheatery. Rogue does have a save system, but it deletes the save when you load it. So it was simple to save->back-up->load, effectively making a quick save.
A better format would be to just like play it for an hour, and use the save system if the run gets interrupted. Otherwise you'll probably just have half of the 13 runs getting killed by an (E)mu on Level 2. Unless it doesn't become a "real" run until Ben gets past say Level 10 or something.
Ben Pack----*beefy handshake*---- Inugami Korone
Dying immediately in a stream that ends after a single death.
You're. Gonna. Finish It.
@crayman: Vinny might have been confusing it with the reputation for other (actual) Roguelikes. Nethack typically takes several hours the first time around. The Speedrun record for Nethack was just broken with the first sub-60 minute ascension.

Vinny might lose this contest. Ben is actually pretty good at video games.
Is Ben trying to be the Hedonism Bot from Futurama?
Loving this feature.
Ben, it's a fucking greater than and lesser than sign. You learn this in grade school. Otherwise, good job.
Edit: this comes across more aggressive than I intended. Was just irked.
@derwafflemous: lmao in the same day too
@derwafflemous: Ben had confidence, but then there was no confidence.
A great start!
Kingdom Heartache: Going Rogue
"The baby levels." --Ben Pack, 2020
Greatest video of all time
Since it isn't "The run", perhaps it makes more sense to just keep playing for an hour or so? Especially if it takes a while to set everything up?
You can save the game, so if a game takes longer than expected, you can just resume next time?
Excited for this show!
