I just hope the next game they pick to play on this series is decent and fun. It doesn't have to be amazing/good, as long as they enjoy playing it. Anything from "This is a dope ass video game" to "I'm super nostalgic for this and look past its flaws" works. But man, hearing them say "This is a bad game, this game sucks, I think this is might be a bad video game" over and over, in a feature like this is no good.

It works on one of Jeff's streams or old-game segments, where he can play a bad game for 5-15 minutes, say its bad, show why its bad, and show the whole thing with cheats enabled and move on. This is the kind of game that works for a feature like that. For "This is the run?" they need to play something else.

I mean, play through original Contra, there are lots of those. Or broaden the series and play single-player games like, I assume, most of us did, passing the controller upon death. Not that there are not plenty of classic 2-player games to pick from still but I dunno.

Here's hoping Altered Beasts was a mis-pick and they will either do better homework next time, or just get better luck with their picks in general.

I'm starting to believe 2 things. 1. that this isn't the run. and 2. that this is a bad video game.

Dan's "kicking everyone in the nuts" strategy is remarkably effective for much of Level 5, as is Vinny's "punch Bebop when he tries to jump up." An overall excellent run.

Shout-out to the goat who appeared from nowhere solely to dance across the screen after Game Over.

Also Dan you asked who the bad guy was, he's Hades and Zeus is the guy that brings you to life in the beginning.

so my take on the story is that the bad guy is an evil cultist who likes pigeons and kidnaps the girl and puts her on a crucifix (nice one Japan) and turns her into a pigeon

Dan is absolutely tanking these runs, vinny’s making it through all levels without losing a life. He also refuses to listen to vinny about the baby dragons during the boss, you have to wait until after the fireballs go if the timing doesn’t line up and for ****’s sake stop falling in pits! Still great watch and their chemistry as always is fantastic. ❤️

I love how they continue to get trolled by the wolf patterns.

I think the 'one person gets transformed first' strat is the safest one on most levels (maybe not the bears, rip), but since you can't get there with the orbs from the first pig you probably want to split that one since it does seem like the power up actually lets you kill stuff more easily.

@skyesilver: yo, that fall into the pit was complete garbage and you know it. He got knockbacked onto the platform and then as soon as his character stood up, it instantly fell into the pit. He had no chance there.

The hole was to his left, and he literally fell while moving to the right. This is somehow simultaneously the best game in the world and the worst game in the world.

I mean Contra Hard Corps took them 20 tries? Ain't no thang.

Yo, that last level is some straight fucking garbage. I mean, the whole game is garbage, but the last level is like the bottom of the garbage bag where all the trash juice settles and festers into an ungodly stench.

It needs to be our goal as a community to make sure they watch the end of the arcade version once they beat this. Trust me, it's worth it.

This game sucks ass haha! The only good stuff is the Game Over music and watching them get hellaciously owned on the final stage. That vortex of enemies Vinny got trapped in was pure shithousery

I very very very much enjoy this season of the series. Contra was great, but it had such an inertia to it. I despaired a bit earlier, but they're finally starting to make progress. If Dan hadn't fallen in the hole, you guys might have stood a chance haha. Keep it up!!
